Write for Us
We are looking for writers who can write good original quality posts on BloggingTips.com. Please contact us if you would like us to consider you. Make sure you give us details of your own blog or a link to some articles you have written.
What do I Get?
In return you will get full credit for the post, an author page with a bio and your website will also be linked at the top and bottom of every post you make.
You can see an example of the bio page you will receive here. A list of all weekly author’s bio pages is listed on every page of the blog to give our authors maximum exposure
Im sure that writing for BloggingTips will bring your blog a lot of new traffic and readers. The better your posts are, the more likely visitors are to visit your site or blog.
When you sign up to be an author here your account is set to contributor. This basically means that your post will be published upon approval. I stress that posts will never be edited or changed in any way - if a post is not up to the quality we expect it may not be published however we will not edit the post at all. Any changes or modifications have to be done by the author.
Weekly Authors
Authors who can commit to writing at least 1 post per week will have their blog featured near the top right hand side of our sidebar in our Authors section. This will list your website on every page of Blogging Tips (except the forums) and will give your website a huge amount of exposure.
Weekly authors posts are not reviewed however with so many authors on board, weekly authors are assigned a day and time to publish so that there is not 10 posts one day and 1 the next.
So for example :
- Author A publishes on Mondays
- Author B publishes on Wednesdays
and so on and so on. I encourage authors to use the timestamp feature to publish posts in advance when they are busy on the day their post is published. I’m sure authors whose posts are published at the weekend will use this a lot
What kind of author are you looking for?
We have been swamped with author requests from bloggers who run making money online blogs. This is not something we are looking for at the moment. We do review authors requests on an individual basis however currently we are primarily looking for authors who can write about :
- Domain names and Hosting - ie. someone who is involved in domain name selling or website hosting
- CSS
- Search engine optimisation
- Blogging platforms eg. wordpress, blogger, typepad, serendipity etc. Specifically coding and design, news and updates for these platforms
Rules & Guidelines
Unfortunately, there are always rules.
The rules are in place to ensure that the quality of posts and integrity of the site remains high.
- The post/article should not be reproduced anywhere else on the web including your own blog (neither party benefits from duplicate content)
- Any images used in the post cannot mess up the design of the site. As a guideline, the max width of any picture you post should not exceed 500 pixels.
- It is ok to link to your own blog if it is relevant to do so (eg. referring a coding example or whatnot). However, you should not write articles around topics to justify a link to your blog and you should not actively encourage visitors to visit your blog. Remember, you get a link to your blog at the top and bottom of your posts plus a link on your author page which is also linked to at the top and bottom of every post and the links are clearly marked so that your site gets exposure.
- No affiliate codes or referral links are allowed in posts.
Why can’t i publish the article i write on my own blog?
I know that this might put off a lot of potential author’s however there are reasons for this stance. Most importantly, many of Blogging Tips readers also read the blogs of our Authors. Therefore it is not in the authors best interest or Blogging Tips to have duplicated content on our blogs as this will alienate readers. I want every single post on Blogging Tips to be original.
Don’t let all that put you off from applying. All authors are clearly credited as the writers and get two links to their website on their posts. It really is good exposure for the authors blog and im sure all authors get a lot new readers from applying their writing skills here. However, i stress that we are looking gor quality and not quantity.
