I'm new to the blogging world and admit my incompetence at it. I have a passion for Las Vegas, NV and have initiated a blog offering cost-saving tips, suggestions, facts, and limitations for potential visitors. There's nothing for sale..not even a banner ad. I'm interested in the opinions of the more experienced bloggers (which
means any of you, relatively speaking) regarding means and methods for increasing traffic . I assume this is a common solicitation here; I just need some brief, succinct responses at your convenience. I'd be thrilled to have any and all

Hi Chuck ~ I only had a few minutes to spend on this (played hookie and played tennis and chatted with friends at Starbucks so I'm running behind on work LOL) but I did have a look.

It's a nice site and has some great potential I'm sure. Who doesn't love vegas???

I like the polls actually ... thought provoking and fun ... did you add them to your index page and they "stay" there? Or is that a post? Unless you get a ton of traffic I don't think I'd set them up to expire (if possible) this is very valuable information to gather from your visitors.

I don't mean to repeat myself ... but I don't know much about Blogger blogs and truthfully I just don't prefer them. I find them hard to navigate.

I clicked on a post to see how you were using SEO for the post and I don't know how to do this on Blogger but is there an SEO pack for Blogger? The name of your site is not the best choice as the first thing on your "title" tag.

Do you do any keyword research prior to each post? By my QUICK look Las Vegas is a very competitive topic ... but there are some great niche topics to be found. I'd much rather be found 100 times for something barely searched then compete with millions of results for something broad.

What do you use for keyword research? If you don't have any paid products I suggest:

I've taken a quick look. Blog has interesting and original look overall.

I don't like text, light on dark is already hard to read and big chunks without formating don't help at all.

Use of images is pretty cool but I expected them to be clickable and you do not cite sources (some images have dates like personal photos, some have watermarks).
