3 column bar is have 2 different type, which is you prefer?

This one :
Column 1 :For article
Column 2: First sidebar
Column 3 : Second sidebar

Or this one :
Column 1 : left-sidebar
Column 2 (middle part) : article
Column 3 : right sidebar

I prefer having both the sidebars on the right. That way the main content is visible to someone using it on a smaller monitor (with lower res). Its also makes things for all readers, as you dont have to criss cross the page to find something.

I'm not a big fan of a column on either side of the content area, so providing it doesn't look cluttered or take over, I'd say the first option with the two sidebars together.

For me, I'll take both sidebars in the right side. Haven't tried the second option but I think it will work if you will monetize your blog all adsense. I've seen most of adsense friendly blog in that setup.

Even I would go with the first option of having both sidebars in right side. This gives a proper continuity to both content and sidebar content. Splitting sidebar with content in between disrupts the flow and is a bit turnoff. Having content at one side and sidebar on other is pleasant and more readable.

Left Sidebar has a greater CTR by about 7-8% minimum I have found during my experiments, Though having it on the right produces greater 'readability' and increase time spent on site on average by 30sec as opposed on the left.

Having 2 sidebars as opposed to one always caused mixed reactions...the best effect I have had is on sidebar that splits into two mid way...though each to his own.

it's interesting to know that you already make experiment and get fact that left-sidebar is greater 7-8% CTR. If this true, then adsense placed at left-side bar is good idea. But seem many people don't know about this :D, but is that is deep experiment? I mean , do you make experimen in any blog (not just one) and compare it with many blog which have sidebar both in the right side? Or it's just convenience?

The results make sense. CTR increases as visibility is more - you tend to first look at stuff that is at the left, but site engagement decreases with sidebar on the left.

@akira Yes I tired this on 6 different sites and that was the average gain; it almost follows as Indyan has said the 'z' principle...you look to left corner first then header then bottom left and along footer.

Though again as mention it is limited by a minimal reaction then. Its a trade of you have to consider...though experiment yourself over a month or two and see what you get.
