If not I advise you to try it!! It is simply amazing!! But you need a seo plugin only drawback was seo otherwise it looks awesome.
I have also tried drupal, drupal to me is the best software available to run a website ,amazing url structure and the way the content is organised is superb.
If you want to move to the next level from wordpress then you should try joomla or drupal they are the best!!
Check the site I made using drupal, check the URL, beautiful isnt it?? No plugin or component installed it is just the core package:D

I had tried Joomlar briefly. I liked it better than opencms which I had tried earlier. Its almost as easy to use as wordpress.

Unless Joomla has change dramatically with version 1.5, it's a majorly overbloated, table based, confusing admin, piece of software.
We set a site up with Joomla a couple of years ago, thinking that WordPress wouldn't be able to cope with it (I'd not explored WP to its full capacity as a CMS back then). The core files were outputting files so those had to be hacked to get them changed to a non table-based layout, the admin was majorly confusing at times and the templating system, whilst easy to change, change one file, it wasn't so easy when you wanted some custom pages.
WordPress is more than capable of doing anything that Joomla can do, and it's easier to use and far more flexible. I've just set up a multilingual site with WordPress as a CMS, I've got a shop running with WordPress. Sky's the limit :)

My first fray on the net was with Joomla; I loved it! its versatility power was amazing, but as sarah mentioned, it was a bit bloated, 1.5 did a lot to reduce this factor, bit it came at a hit of speed.
Drupal again a brilliant CMS; but I didn't really get to grips with it like i did with Joomla and Wordpress.
Joomla's main benefit over WP was versatility to create a 'non blog' site, but now with WP's huge now of plugins and hacks to do almost everything you can dream of, it comes down to what's more 'easy' to use...and for me now its wordpress.

Sarah is it possible to see your website??
I am planning for an job search website That is why I was experimenting with drupal and joomla for three months now!! learnt every bit of it!! Joomla and drupal takes more time to learn unlike Wordpress but having said that I would take joomla anyday because of the Power of the system you need to worry about any plugin.
Joomla was part of mambo but now they are separate and after separation mambo has lost its place while joomla is still powering ahead. Joomla 1.5.7 Is completely different from Joomla 1.0 version that you used sarah try the new one.
Well Drupal needs some php knowledge, it doesn't have an Article editor like in wordpress but the admin panel is a so easy unlike joomla.

The site is no longer live. And thanks but I won't be touching Joomla any time soon. WordPress can do everything Joomla can with far less bloat and much more ease.
I've seen Joomla 1.5 at work. I also saw the site cause several pages of problems in a forum discussion on how to get it updated and working, and then the Joomla side of the site got hacked.
WordPress is pretty powerful without plugins, add a couple and your CMS is ready. You just need to know how to use it properly.
ive never liked joomla, from a clients point of view its not that easy to use. building a site using it is just a big pain nothing seems to fall in to place easily i would choose wordpress anyday.
Drupal is ok but again very bloated. in my opinion drupal is better than joomla but both lack the cutting edge when you want to customise them, wordpress for me wins hands down

I think the only CMS I'd try out or should try out when I have the time is CMS Made Simple as it gets quite a few good reviews off a few developers I know.
Up until using WordPress as a CMS I just wrote custom CMSs for clients.
