i like to think about what the site will be based on on someting that will be appealing to the user. then if i can i use a keyword in the domain name but not as a necessity far too many people focus on seo before they focus on the content of their site.

1. depend on topic, the domain must be contain the keyword so it'll SEO friendly
2. if i already make a list of good domain, i will do research at whois, checking if it's avaialble or no
3. If it's available, i buy it

One of the most imp things is - can you pronounce the domain name. That itself goes a long way, as it is easier to remember a domain name that can be pronounced.

pronounce is also important thing, we will hate the one which hard to be spell
we need something brandable but sometime what we want is unavailable. I try to find great domain name about cooking which have good traffic (i use adword tool external to reasearch) but there is no one available, some great name as recipe.com or letscooking.com is unavailable......
Well, if it's happen, i just making my own brand domain, such akira07recipe.com or something like that
