Do you include an image in your posts? I mostly do use screenshots of a reviewed site or logo the company that's covered, etc. But I also see lots of big bloggers including extraneous images in their posts. Like a post about blogging that leads with a pic of a baby at a laptop cough :)

It depends what I'm writing about. Most of the time no. I only tend to include photos when I've been out taking a few shots and have posted a selection on Flickr, then I'll select one or two of my favourites and drop them in to my post, usually a personal round up of what's been going on.
For development posts I have a lot of code in them so I don't think an image would be suitable anyway until I've added a screenshot to explain something.
Images can add to short posts or to posts on a certain topic, but they're not a necessity.

I mostly use images as they attract the users and i feel it makes them involve into the posts but it becomes necessary to add if they are short posts..:)
all depends on the subject, a picture can be nice to get the users attention but i wouldnt worry about it. if your content is good it will do all the talking :)

I'm not sure that is always true. Good content can easily get lost on the web so if anything, you should be adding images to your best posts so that they are highlighted.
I do add images quite frequently but don't do it as a rule.

I use pictures because my blog is called smartpixel if I don't use it who else?? Well I wont use it unless it requires an image as images tend to slow the website and increase my bandwidth I am running on a tight bandwidth 1gb is all I have left

I always try to include pictures in my post. It's generally a logo or something similar that is left aligned.

I am always including logo/icon and plenty of screenshots for reviews.
For other posts I may look up and use number of images from Flickr (under CC licence) but that's up to two hours of extra work so I only do it on major "pillar" posts.

which image hosting that you use to upload your image to be used for your site? I usually save my image at my photobuket account album.
Well yeah, picture is interesting, and also you can add ALT tag in way to make your site more good in SEO

I only tend to include photos that I've taken so they're on my Flickr account, otherwise I'd just upload the image via WordPress and have it on my own server.
Also, all photos/images should have alt attributes briefly description what that photo/image is for accessibility.

anyway if you do posting image in your article, do you watermark it with some url or maybe your name? I do it for picture which originally created by me, it's way to promote also..!! If someone copy it, it's ok, because that mean my url or name is spreaded

Custom designed Pictures are watermarked!! But I don't usually watermark unless I plan to use it for marketing.

I don't watermark across a photo. My copyright is already in the EXIF and simply because it's my photo it's my copyright (unless of course I've given the rights to someone else).

If I do a review or a long winded post, I'll include an image at the beginning. If I'm doing a review, I'll include multiple screenshots throughout the video.

No need for a plugin. WordPress comes with jQuery and thickbox by default now. Just update your header with two lines of code and link the thumbnail to the original (which is usually standard when using the media uploader of course) and add class="thickbox" and that's it.

Thanks sarah. i wasn't aware of this.
I am currently using the shadowbox (http://sivel.net/category/wordpress/plugins/) plugin.
I would look into this. Btw is there anyway to make it work with class="lightbox" instead of thickbox?

You could probably edit the thickbox.js file to look for class="lightbox" instead of class="thickbox". thickbox.js is under wp-includes/js/thickbox/ then go to line 15
tb_init('a.thickbox, area.thickbox, input.thickbox');//pass where to apply thickbox
either change the .thickbox to .lightbox or add in the lightbox classes too ie.
tb_init('a.thickbox, area.thickbox, input.thickbox, a.lightbox, area.lightbox, input.lightbox');//pass where to apply thickbox
Just remember to change this when you upgrade WordPress.
A better longterm solution would be to use a replace SQL function and update your posts table from class="lightbox" to class="thickbox". I'll can dig the code out if you want to try that.

Thanks. I will probably try this out after a couple of weeks as I am pretty busy now. So don't take the trouble of looking up the mysql code.

there is an article which using only picture only, there is no thing except picture. It's "how to" step by step picture, do you think this is effective or maybe it's annoying for you?

Articles that are only pictures? If they're clear and understandable then that's fine, providing you can see the pictures, however don't forget not everyone can or will load the pictures, or possibly be able to see/read them. I would say a step by step needs to be written with just pictures to help explain your points but not to be the main focus.

Well... if today you look at my blog you would notice that I have been including images to my posts quite as a routine now. I am not sure when I started doing this as a regular practice, but today small relevant images placed at the top-right corner of each post kind of marks my every posts. And the good news? My readers seem to like them

It depends on the theme of the post.
an image can create attention at a glance. Through image you can also express a summery or hint of your post.
