Help me in changing blogger template

Hi all. i got stress last day, because i can't change my blogger template. I'm already follow step by step to change it from many site, but it's still error.

I wanna change my classic template to modern one, the look of modern one for example is bloggingtips blog :D

So this is what i do :
1. download the XML
2. Go to layout/template, then go to edit html tab
3. I browse and upload that XML
4. Upload done, i click preview and ..................... ERROR...!!!!!

So, i revert it to classic template again.
Please friend, i'm in stress right now

what is the error that you get?...

have you tried adding other template?... maybe there's something wrong with the codes of the template that you are uploading...

i download many XML, about 7-10 template, but all of them is error. The strange is, if i change my template into new template which not too modern, i can do it..!!! But if i wanna change my template into the modern one, i can't, it's error

I suggest you just migrate your blog in Wordpress. :p

i will try wordpress, but i will not leave blogspot....I will use both blogspot and wordpress...
Anyway, have no idea to solve my problem?

Can you show me the XML template, I can do some troubleshooting if you want to!! The problem may be because of the blogger, the blogger website was not working working properly for three days because of maintenance , Anyway you can check

Is this still a problem for you? If YES, feel free to send me your XML template. Though I am not a Pro in blogger template hacks, still my past 2 years of involvement with blogger platform has taught me many lessons. We would try to see if we could debug your code!

Just wanted to make sure...maybe its possible due to difference between themes of old and new blogger version. There was a blogger classic version and a new beta blogger version(draft.blogger.com) AFAIK.

Pls check if the theme is for the version of blogger you are on.

sorry but actually already solve the problem. The problem is in browser. I'm usually use firefox, and i can't change my blogger template if i'm using a firefox, it's always error. And i decide to try Internet Explorer, and hey, there is no problem.

You can see at startingfrom20.blogspot.com is the result, i can change my basic template to template called "langit"
