Great question Akira. I was going to mention the fact that blogging has garnered many relationships with many different people whom I had no idea existed prior to me getting into this game of blogging. I've made some cool friends through my year and a half of blogging. In fact, one of my blogs readers sent me a Christmas card from Australia heh.

Of course, connections around the globe. but it helped me more in developing my English and my writing skill. They say that how we use English from different countries vary so I need to learn at least how is the syntax of my thought. My professors are native English speakers so I need to cope up with them and blogging helped me much. At least, i think.

I've added to my online friends and made a few additional business contacts but most people that I deal with through blogging I've dealt with on a forum previously. Although at the same time, having a reasonable knowledge of WordPress has helped with a whole lot more.

A few months ago it's very memorable :D, imagine, people who i know just in online, meet with me in real world. Well, it's just eating and hang out in mall but it's very great....

Some of us already have.
that is the power of the internet, it is a global communication tool. As each year goes by it does beg the question if we will eventually become a "global village"?

I've met some people who live close to me and we've talked about possibly meeting up with our families ... but it hasn't happened for me "yet." It would be fun though ... *SmiLes* Suzanne

read that article, will you feel guilty? Personally, i think that article is right, we don't know if our blog can impact and affecting so many people in real world but in the fact we do it just for money, ow...it's too bad.....

Personal blogs can also have a good impact, even if you don't think so. With blogs you can get an insight on other people's lives without any knowledge of who they are. You can see how people live in Japan, England, the USA, Brazil, India, Australia etc. Read about someone's travels, read a food blog and gain an insight into what people in another country actually eat (compared to what you think they eat!).
You can get to understand a bit more about the world that you live in and the people in it, without having to travel to those countries.
Yes, of course informational sites created purely to generate money are not usually of much help to the real world, usually containing inaccurate statements etc. But at the same time a blog that has time and effort put into it won't always be entirely accurate either. Take the Alexa widget discussion in another thread. Search on whether this increases your ranking and you'll find plenty of people reporting that it does. Contact Alexa and they'll tell you (well they did a few months back) that it doesn't. Who do you believe? I'd believe Alexa, and the rest are just poor assumptions.
Overall, blogs about something that the writer is clearly experienced in will be of more benefit to people, which in turn will impact their real worlds possibly, in the way they think, their knowledge etc.
There's a point in there somewhere ;)

yeah, when reading other people blog from other country, it's like we learn their culture, without need to have a journey to that country.
About getting knowledge after rading other blog, it's of course :D
Sometime we wanna find information about how to cook something or how to install plugin....It's increase our knowledge, as you said, sarahG....
But do you also concerned, because beside positive effect, there is negative effect also. Blog can be used for provocation or spread something controversial which can make conflict...
So, be careful :D

So can anything. In the UK we have too many people who've maybe had a bad experience online, so they spread the stories of the constant 'dangers of the internet'. My Uncle will not do his banking online as he doesn't think it's safe.
You get mainstream magazines printing a story and then a week or two later printing a correction in a minor size font, nested somewhere in the magazine.
So it's not limited to blogs, blogs have just become like mainstream media.

haha and just for information, in some country, many people even skeptic to blogger..!!! In my country case, for example, there is people who think blogger is cracker/hacker, it's just because there is a blogger who deface government site...!!!! It's affect bad to us all of blogger....It's too bad
In malaysia, there is a blogger enter jail, i don't know why...
But i wanna say one thing, let's become better man in blog, if not, it will affecting us all of blogger, many people will thinking bad of blogger, and i'm sure we don't want it happen, right?
