Anyone using Facebook for building your business?

I've heard a lot of buzz about using Facebook to grow your business ... is anyone having any luck with this? I'd love to hear more about how to use it for business ... if anyone is on there I guess you just search by name? right? what do you mean using facebook in business? i can't really get it. Is it possible? What I know in facebook is, you can submit your page in it. That's the only benefit, I guess.

You can grow your business via Facebook. Lots of possibilities in it.

Create a Application related to your businesss and try to monetise it or use it to leverage your business. You can even find more customers using that Application. Some Applications are making millions for their creators.

Also you can advertise on Facebook since Facebook has opened advertising on it. I have tried it and it sucks if you ask me. CTR is extremely poor compared to the number of impressions. I have spend around $250 on Facebook ads and all wasted.(Don't worry - $250 was gained using free coupons found on internet :P )

There are lot more ideas which I may not be aware of but this are few.
