I think most poker affiliate webmasters include their target keywords in their URL, but how important do you think this factor is in your SEO efforts? How important are keywords in a URL?

keywords in the URL play a very important role in SEO and is given good weightage by the Search Engines especially Google. Also, it greatly influences in indexing the web page for that particular keyword.

Some people should really not post if they have nothing constructive to say.

Keywords in URLs are very important and as already stated google especially gives very much weight to it. Say you want to come up first under the key phrase - Alton DUI Lawyer. If you buy altonduilawyer.com you will be first listing on google weather you are optimized or not.

I know cause i own that domain.... and many others like that...
So yeah they matter....

You guys didn't even answer his question.

First of all, you can't put keywords in the URL, you can put them in your page title.

If your URL has SEO terms, your mind is not in the right place.
