I am asking this because one of my blog posts got linked via the TheGuardian - Web Edition!!

I think it's still take a long time that my blog will be featured in offline media because there is nothing special about my blog. Navjotsingh, congratulations...!!! It's like an evidence that your blog is good...

It happened a lot before. I don't remember any traffic hike whether it happened then or not. BTW which of your site was featured? Pls share.

My site is listed in a book on CSS and XHTML as I helped the author out with a few PHP scripts. Not really the press but it's still good :)

Ooo I forgot about that. Same goes for me as we both wrote for the magazine. I had been asked for 6 articles on WordPress to be written over the course of the year however the publishing house had already been in discussions as to whether to continue the magazine due to slow sales and after our first articles were published, the magazine was closed (no not due to our articles!)

Shame, it paid pretty well too.

Definitely, but also a pity as it was a better resource for novice and intermediate developers than the other mags around at the time. Like you I'd been lined up to write a series of articles, pity we were brought in at the end of the mag's life.

Not quite the same but one of my other sites was mentioned and linked to from the Wall Street Journal and years later I still get (paid) subscribers from it ;) *SmiLes* Suzanne

yes all it takes a creative mind or even some small change can make us different :D

Maybe if we have a relation with some people in press, our blog can get easily featured in that press....do you have a relation which work in press?

Which is better? featured in offline press or online press?
I prefer online press because not all reader of offline press can browse for internet and enter my site.

wow nice one! i've not had my own personal site listed or linked like that but one of the blogs i helped write for a social site was linked in many of the newspapers to do with recycling for kids

how about don't wait for your blog to be featured on the press, but contact them. Send them 1 your best article and request them to feature it in their press. And don't forfet to write your blog address.
