With the All in One SEO pack you'll need to set your homepage title in the settings page. Then for each page (or post?) you go into manage the individual page and below the content area there's a new section for the all in one seo pack where you can set the title, meta description and keywords.

Yes. With the All in One SEO Pack. When you go to Write Post (or Page) you've got these boxes
Title - This is now your page header. This is what will be output by the template tag the_title(). This usually is set to appear within h1 or h2 tags.
Post - Your page content as usual
Tags - On the Write Post page
Categories - On the Write Post page
All in One SEO Pack (click the name to expand the div)
- Title - This is now the page title and will display between the <title></title> tags of your page
- Description - Your Meta description
- Keywords - Your Meta keywords
However, as already explained, you'll need to set the title, description and keywords for your homepage in the All in One SEO Pack settings page.

But changing titles is not very good for serps!! it will again rank you from the beginning for the title!! I Find the seo plugin quite useful.
Can someone please explain what the description part of SEO plugin should be like.
Once the SEO plugin is acticated we get the SEO plugin option in each posts ,in that an short description is asked what kind of description gets more weightage??

What do you mean? There's no reason why you can't change your page title. Search engines update their indexes all the time. Most changes can be seen and feel the impact within the hour.

Your Meta description and keywords won't improve your ranking at all really. Most blogs don't have either of these as they don't come standard with WordPress. Best rule of thumb is either don't have a meta description, or if you do, ensure it's unique for each page on the site.
If you do want a description then aim to make it around 180 characters long and describe the page. Don't stuff it full of key words/phrases, just make it descriptive for the page it's on. As for keywords, just list out a few selective keywords that are relevant to the page.
