Hi folks,
www.writer4me.com is urgently looking for good children's writers, for writing:
(a) bedtime stories
(b) graphic novels (comicbook script)
(c) teen literature/novels

You do not have to do all the three above. If you think you are an expert of any one or more of the three genres listed above, shoot a mail to me at pinaki[at]writer4me.com with your (original) work samples.

Cheers!

It's really great to write stories like this and I profoundly appreciate that author who gives perfect image.

What's the rate of pay?

I can pay you $10 per page (about 400 words/page) for this if you really are talented with children's/teenagers' writing. Thus, for a 100 page book you will get $1,000; for a 150 page book, $1,500.

Thanks, but no thanks. That is an insult to writers everywhere.

Either you are cut off from the world, or you are too proud. Please find out the reality ma'am. Go to sites like Elance and find out at what rate writers of USA and Canada are working. They are working for $5 - $8 per page. If you go to GetAFreelancer, the rates are worse. Every day I am getting heaps of applications from US and Canada writers happily willing to work for $10.

That does not necessarily imply that your rate should also be $10/page; but it means that the rate is NOT an "insult to writers everywhere". On the contrary it is a standard rate today and hundreds of thousands of writers are working at this rate.

The world has changed around you; wake up to reality, ma'am, or you will find yourself in a strange world one day.

Sir, if I submit my work, how long will it take before I can get my payment?

The world has changed around you; wake up to reality, ma'am, or you will find yourself in a strange world one day.

In the west that doesn't even get close to minimum wage, so most working age adults in the west are going to consider it be very low. The last paid writing I did I received £90 a page (at 400-600 words per page), which at the current exchange rate would be $141.

For what it's worth, the National Union of Journalists has a recommended base rate of £275 per 1000 words for writing for books. But specifically state that the base rate for technical writing and writing for children's books should be higher if there's extensive research involved. Then there are royalties to be considered where appropriate.

So, as you can see, a rate of $10 per 400 words could easily be considered as a bit of an insult.

athlon24, you seem to be a professional forum poster (going by your activeness in this forum). If interested, please send your rate for forum posting to my email address. I might be interested to use your service for our company.

I think, I cannot accept your offer as of now, concerning the forum posting service that you are saying. If my friend came up with an article, I will send it to you. He's a better writer than I am. But my concern is your rate. Are there any way to make that higher as everybody is saying here, that your rate is too low.

I have never discussed our rate for forum posting. I had asked your rate, and I never got it. So I don't see how you find our rate 'low'. In fact forum posting is not a service we provide, but we receive many requests from our clients, whom we have to turn down. So I was only wondering if I can handle these projects. Anyways, thanks and goodbye.

i think, we had misunderstanding here. The rate that I am talking about is for the article submission that you first posted in this thread. I ask my friends if he can do an article and he said, he will try. But when I tell him your rate, he asked if there's a way to make it higher.

About the forum posting service, I think I did not make it clear. My bad. I can't do it as of now because I just learned that I need to beat hundreds of posts. I think, my schedule can't handle it. Sorry for the confusion.

There is no way a professional writer would write for that.;)

Anyways ma'am, no hard feelings... we are professionals of the same trade; maybe catering different segments of the market.

We sell our services for $9.99 per page; so no wonder we have to make our writers provide the service for matching rates... that's economics. Have a good day ma'am; and Happy Diwali from India.
