I am just starting to put together my game plan for how to monetize my sites and it’s a bit overwhelming. I’m looking for some feedback for how to handle this on my sites.

I will be focusing on my blog http://www.suzannefranco.com where I will be offering free articles and training videos for money making ideas, affiliate marketing, blogs and websites, etc. I know many of you feel this is too competitive but I have a twist. I have two other established businesses where most all of my clients would like to be making money online and just don’t know where to start. These sites focus on freelance writers and work at home moms.

So I don’t really need to rely on new traffic to get this off of the ground … but hopefully it will grow to that over time.

These people already trust me and I don’t ever want to breach that trust so I feel I need to be careful about what I have on my site … nothing cheesy.

As far as in the blog posts I think I could easily integrate: Affiliate products I blog about and put in my own links to and PayPerPost type of service where I would review products/services.

What I’m a little more concerned or confused about would be the banner and tile ads that you typically see on the side bars and ads like AdSense.

I don’t want to miss out on potential earnings by being overly cautious … but I don’t want to turn off my visitors either.

Can someone give me an idea of what which of these methods they would definitely do and NOT do … and where you make most of your money on your own sites and blogs?

Thanks for any and all comments on this. *SmiLes* Suzanne

Sorry for the delay in replying. I saw this thread a few days ago but was heading out at the time :)

I would try not to put too many ads on your site. This is a mistake I see a lot of bloggers making. I like the area underneath a blog post and before the comment area. Its a good section to put a banner ad or recommendation for a website or product you like.

You could also write a dedicated page about what products you like and link to it in your main navigation menu.

Yeah that is good advice. Not too many ads at least starting out. I would also say at least have a tower of adsense on side. Some people might disagree but it has been beneficial for me !!

Thank you both for the tips! I'm really starting to enjoy my blog! I'm hoping to have my new theme up and running tomorrow sometime. I'll check back when it's up and let you critique it. *SmiLes* Suzanne

And to get ideas for good products, join some of the affiliate companies like CJ, Market Leverage, etc etc...
