I think the biggest problem the blog has is advertisements. There are way too many adverts on the blog, quite a lot of which are unrelated to your blohs content.:)

thanks for the critique. I have pulled quite a bit of stuff from my left sidebar.
to all of you other "forumers" here any suggestions on layout, color scheme, ad placement, ease of use, really just anything you like or dislike about the site.

Hey Cman, Well I do agree with Kevin about the ads. I have the same problem. Bidvertiser is horrible at targeting so I have been going through and dening all those ads from like "1800 plummer?"
Other than that I really dont like the payperpost direct buttons. I have one to and have been debaiting about getting rid of it.
your ad by yahoo in the upper left hand corner is a skyscrapper but only shows one ad for me so it looks like a lot of blank space. it might just be because im in Spain.
I would stick with your current color. I like it and your navigation looks good to me. maybe condense the categories a bit but thats up too you.
At first I really liked the 3 colum templates but now I have grown acustom to the 2 colum. I think a wider colum for content is better. Thats just my opinion though.
All in All your site looks good.

thanks for the suggestions. I have also been looking into moving to a two column design or the moving my left sidebar over the right and have them side-by-side.
I have been working on weeding out bidvertiser junk as well. As far as the categories are concerned I realized the need for this and started but stopped. After your comment I realize I need to continue and finish that project up.
Thank you all for your thoughtful comments. I will be making some more changes in the coming days and will request a follow up then. feel free to stop back by and comment on any changes. once again thanks very much

I have made some big changes to the site.
I changed back to a 2 column format, removed a bunch of ads, changed how and when ads are displayed, and added a recent posts, recent comments, and label cloud to right sidebar.
I think that is it though I may have changed some more. Anyway take a look and let me know what you think of the new format.

Cman,
Just what Kevin said, do remove some advertisements. I will have adverts of text link ads and google adsense instead of Hits4pay or other things. For one thing every blogger know that text link ads are reliable and you can earn more as a referral from text link ads than any other.
I would have a shorter about me page and have at the top of right side column. Else have a much longer "about me" and add it as an icon to your navigation bar removing Agloco or Featured Sites.

hmmm.... i might have to respectfully disagree a bit. i have a total of 3 banner type ads which is way less than quite a few of the most popular blogs. while I'm certainly not up to the level of doshdosh or johnchow my ad level is far below theirs.
as far as the text ads go they appear on post permalink pages and in the comments at 2, 5, 8, and 10. Taking into account the earnings on the hits4pay or the boca java banners vs. the auction ads or text ads, those two programs have earned me more this month than all my others combined. hits4pay is looking like it will bring in about 300 this month while boca java with bonuses and commissions close to 500. my best performing text link ad program is bidvertiser and it stands to bring in about 200 this month. While I understand the passive income nature of text link ads via referrals, hits4pay is also has a referral program which accounts for 95% of my income from there. bidvertiser is the same. the featured site 5 site funnel also features a mix of referral based programs and sendearnings and inboxdollars combined will total almost 100$ this month. These things have been pretty successful and all are mostly hands off passive income at this point.
i do see your point on the about me. I am going to be moving it to a back dated post and adding it to the bar. I will be changing the menu bar in the coming days.
thank you so much for your feedback. All of your suggestions have helped me tremendously.

Cman, good to hear that you are earning some great money from those sites. I agree that Dosh Dosh and John Chow has many advertisements. But the thing is whatever and how much ever advertisements they have, their readers won't go. In fact, John's readers wants him to place many ads and also wants to see his income reach $15k next month. Also their ads are small squares, which I think is 250 by 250 or something. So if it is small it goes pretty unnoticed. If you want to have many ads why not change to 3 column template and place the small squares of advertisements in the last column which Dosh Dosh does. It might improve right?

i just moved back to the 2 column from the 3 column as it suited my blog and article style better. you see one difference for me is that I am at the core more of an affiliate marketer than anything. that is where my success has been and it is what I know. I continuously monitor ads to find which ads and placements are bringing in the most revenue. there are those here that have followed my site pretty much from its inception and can attest to the evolution that it has undergone. these changes have been driven by two factors. One being the critique from and study of some of the top bloggers in the monetized blogging segment. The second being which placements and ads bring in the most revenue.
I certainly don't have the most traffic or highest technorati or alexa ratings. I do however, not to brag, in all likelihood earn more from my efforts than some with far higher audiences. i stick with what I know and am passionate about, making money online, and affiliate marketing.

I like the header although the text could be spaced out a little bit more. The color scheme is nice and professional, however, everything seems to be scrunched together a little. I think you need more spacing between the main content and the sidebar as well as the banners and the content. Also I recommend that you center your tabs and the text inside of them as well as the sidebar headers.

I meant to center those at the beginning and it slipped my mind thanks for the input. I have fixed the text centering issue on the tabs, and sidebar headings. I will be tweaking the layout a bit which will hopefully bring in more whitespace and not look so "scrunched".
