I think Ghing is right. Being genuine is a BIG factor in attracting blog readers. It gives them the impression that you're not just an ordinary boring geeky blogger. That you've got CREATIVITY.

Also, don't talk like an encyclopedia. Make sure that your content is conversational. Cite examples from your own experiences or from your friends'.
