I am new to this site and this forum and I have found it incredibly useful. I'm relatively new to blogging (about 7 months) and I'm looking to upgrade to my own domain name.
I've been using .wordpress.com and have been able to generate a small but growing following and I want to fully tap in to the blog's potential. In order to do so, I want a customized logo and WordPress Theme design.
I just wanted to throw this out on this forum because I'm looking for someone willing to do both for free (you will get plenty of exposure for your work), or a very small fee.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Please PM me for me details!

welcome to the forums :)
I would encourage you to use one of the thousands of free wordpress themes available on the web and modify it to suit your needs.

Thanks for the tip Kevin.
I don't know a lot about codes and manipulating templates to reflect the colors and logo I want.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for your willingness to help.
It's a provocative, conservative political and world events blog. I know there are a lot out there but we've tried to differentiate ourselves by getting some interviews with some pretty influential people.
Anyway, I've put up a newspaper style theme right now. We haven't launched but there is one post that I put up to get an idea of the layout. What type of theme would work well? Does the current one work?
We hope to have a logo soon, but I have no idea where we're going with it yet, but our colors will be red, white and blue.
Some of the things we're looking to put up are PayPal, some form of advertising (like Google Ads, etc.--whichever is consider to be the best) and make it easy to post the audio of our interviews, images and videos.
The current URL is theconservativebeacon.wordpress.com
The new site is at theconservativebeacon.net

I think the new design will look good once you have imported the posts from the wordpress.com blog.
I didnt like how the sidebar switched when you read a post - ie. the sidebar is on the right hand side on the home page and then changes to the left hand side when you view the post in full. I definately think navigation links should remain constant so that the visitor doesnt get confused.

Kevin,
Thanks for the tip.
How can I fix that problem? My code knowledge is still very basic.

well your main page is probably powered by your index.php template
your post is powered by the single.php template. You would have to change the single.php template and your stylesheet to change the sidebar back to the right. If your really struggling email me your style zipped up and ill tell you exactly the changes you need to make :)
