Yes, this is a common problem, I know it from experience as well. We are all beginners at some points of our careers.
So don't worry.

One of the techniques is to link your shop with a powerful blog, preferably your own blog so the link to your online store is on the homepage.
Another one is to create multiple profiles on platforms like YouTube, Wordpress.com, Blogger.com, Stumble.com , Facebook, Twitter with your company name or your name but referring to your company. Start the process of branding

Another one is to befriend many people, become an authority and make them want to come back to you - this one requires time

go into joint-ventures with a person that has a large list of names and let them send emails or a newsletter telling about your online platform..
