I'm a blogging newbie. I just started two blogs of the same content, one at blogger and the other at wordpress. I'm not really clear on the difference between the two. I wasn't sure if one is better then the other. Is it a bad idea to have two blogs with the same exact content at two different blog sites? Will this improve or hurt my search engine rankings? Please advise.

Yes, it will hurt your rankings. Pick one host and stick with it. Personally, I favor Blogger because they make it easy to design and layout the page.

Yea I saw something where someone was telling people it only takes a few moments to copy your posts to as many different platforms as possible but I don't think they knew what they were talking about.

My suggestion, unless its just a hobby blog, is to ditch the hosted WordPress and Blogger blogs. Get your own domain and your own install of WordPress. You have more freedom and it'll be more of a pain to move later anyway.

I agree with Jason about hosting your own WordPress blog. However, if you are not sure if you are going to like it, you can fool around with Blogger and WordPress.com blogs.

The downside to this is that if you decide that you do like it, I guarantee that you will want to move to a self hosted platform. Then all of you links and content on you WordPress.com or Blogger blog will be stuck on those blogs.

Therefore, if you think that you are in it for the long haul, get a self hosted WordPress blog now.

It's not a good idea to have two blogs with the same content,Search engines hate such websites and will no longer index them. It's better to create unique content if you want search engines indexed your both blogs.

As others already mention better to have diff content on each of your blogs. By having duplicate content ur risking getting penalised by search engines.

there was something like being offered that they will host your articles automatically to 100 blog sites, with different ips. i don't know how will that work. :confused:
