Principle Theme - Custom Link Structure Causes Error

Hi all,
I have really been enjoying the free themes from this site, but one problem I have had is with the Principle theme. If I have any type of custom link structure apart from the default I get the following error when I visit the blog page (my posts are set to post to a static page):

Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/<theme directory>/wp-content/themes/Principle/home.php on line 71

As I said, everything works fine if the default permalinks settings are used, but any sort of customization causes the error. You can view the error here:

Looks like you have not set the blog up correctly. Can you tell me what url you have used in your settings and the permalink structure you have used etc.

I get the same thing with the Principle theme when activating it. I have the latest version installed, disabled all plugins. I can use any other theme and everything is good except this one. My wordpress has been set up for over a year with no issues until this theme.

I installed the Hurricane theme fine with no issues, but the Principle theme throws the above mentioned error still. Thanks

it must be conflicting with a plugin you are using. Could you provide me with a temporary admin login for your blog. Can you send the info to me via private message.

I just went ahead and rolled with the Hurricane theme actually, but I do have an issue with that as well but will create a new post.

My designer went ahead and fixed it for you on your blog. The theme download file has also been updated to show the changes.

Thanks for that Kevin! Are you able to tell me which parts of the code were updated? I have already started another blog with this theme (I love it!) and don't really wanna have to install the theme again.

the header.pjp and style.css files were updated. The zip file at bloggingtips has been updated to reflect this too :)
