Reffering Links Question

My site stats tracks the last 500 visitors, and 295 of them have no reffering link. What does that mean? Did the counter just not know where they came from?

Some will have viewed your site by just typing in your domain name. As for the rest of it, I'm not too sure. What stat service are you using? You should maybe use another 1 or 2 stat counters. Should give you a better picture of things

Interesting. Statcounter, was the one I got the first figure from, 300 no reffering links. I just checked Site Meter and it also had a lot of no reffering links.

Thats what you call type-in traffic mate(the best sort of traffic ofcourse).

I would like to think that is what it is, but I only have like 10 returning visitors a day. You'd think returning visitors would be most likely to be type-in. I did put some vids up on YouTube with my blog name, so they could be coming from there.

Use Google Analytics, it'll tell you where the traffic is coming from.

But if you have only 10 hits per day, here's how where I feel the traffic's coming from:

4-5: You checking out your own blog
3: Some of your friends
1-2: Grandma logging on the internet and loading you up from her bookmarks, as yours is the only one she knows about apart from Google and Yahoo :p

Actually YouTube is a great resource to get traffic, I noticed right after I start uploading videos with my url in them that I was receiving type-in traffic. So I think that is where they are coming from, just to be sure check how many views your videos have.
