I've downloaded the theme and have the instructions, but I now have a Mac rather than a PC. Where do I find the wp-content/themes file? Do I need to download something from Wordpress onto this new computer before I begin uploading the new Personal theme? Can someone point me in the right direction? Sorry for being such a newbie. Hope that I'm not in over my head with this.

the wp-content/themes folder is online, on your server. For example, for bloggingtips it is at www.bloggingtips.com/wp-content/themes/

You need to upload the theme files to that folder.

That seems to be a blank page. How do I download to it?

I'm not suggesting that you click on that link. I'm saying that you need to upload the theme files to your blog.

So, for example, if your domain was www.domain.com you would upload the theme files using FTP to www.domain.com/wp-content/themes/

Can you tell us some more details about your setup. What's your domain name, what hosting site are you using etc

I've uploaded the Personal Theme to my wp-contents file.
Somehow I've misplaced the step by step instructions.
Can you point me in the right direction?
My domain name is bonnieperry.net.
I have hosting with bluehost. Was trying to use Thesis - but it was too technical for me.
I'm hoping that the Personal Theme is easier.
Thanks

Ok. I figured that out - partially. I have the theme uploaded in my wp-content area. What's the next step?
Thanks

Hi Bonnie,

You need to go the appearance section in your wordpress admin area and click on the themes link. You then need to select the personal theme from your list of installed themes.

Let me know if you are struggling with this. If you are really having a hard time I can speak to you briefly on msn and walk you through the installation :)

I went to my Wordpress appearance on my dashboard - but the Personal Theme isn't one of the choices. Is there something else that I was suppoed to do from my BlueHost cpanel?

if it isn't there then you haven't uploaded it to your hosting space as yet. You need to upload the theme to the wp-content/themes/ folder.

I have it uploaded into my wp-content/themes folder & extracted it.
Still not showing up as a choice in Appearance on my Wordpress site.
Have I missed a step?

If you have uploaded the theme it should be there.

What's the url of your blog. I'll check it out to see what's wrong.

Hi Bonnie,

OK. You should upload the personal theme files to http://bonnieperry.net/wp-content/themes/

So the index.php file would be located at http://bonnieperry.net/wp-content/themes/Personaltheme/index.php

If you are really unsure about this process, it's probably best if you send me login information to your bluehosting admin panel and an admin login for your blog. This will allow me to install the theme for you.

you can send me a message through the forum. Just send me an admin login for your blog and ftp access to your site as well.

I'll be able to install it for you with that info.
