I am happy to announce that we are launching our first WordPress plugin in the next week or two. The plugin is called ‘Twitter User’ and was developed by Sarah, our resident WordPress Guru!
Twitter User
The plugin adds an additional field to a users profile in which they can add their twitter username. The user can then add this link automatically …
Second to Flickr, Google owned Picasa is probably the most used photo-sharing service online. Blogger users in particular make great use of Picasa since all image uploads are hosted on their Picasa accounts.
When researching the possibilities of developing a Picasa photostream widget, I realized that widgets to display Picasa photos are actually few and far between (especially when compared to the huge variety of widgets and plugins available for Flickr).

One of the most difficult problems bloggers face is turning visitors into long-time subscribers. With “bounce rates” for most blogs being traditionally much higher than other kinds of sites (by some estimates well over 70%) and visitor retention is a very tough challenge, especially for for new bloggers that have yet to really build their audience.
To make matters more complicated, with social media, there is an almost unlimited supply of bookmarking, social news, search engine and other sites that one find your site through and all of their needs are different. A visitor that comes from Twitter, for example, is likely interested in different things than one who comes from Google.
So how you do welcome all of these visitors and get them to stick around on your site or at least follow your RSS feed (or other service)? WP Greet Box may be the solution.
On the surface, it’s a simple plugin that displays a welcome message to new visitors. However, its features and depth make it far more powerful than most of your visitors will likely realize.

The plugin features :
Loads user’s avatar by matching the email address to the user’s Twitter email address.

On November 6th 2008, I published a review on Performancing.com about a cool WordPress plugin called Slayer’s Custom Widgets. This plugin was cool because it was one of the first I’ve seen that enabled users to assign Widgets to certain locations on a WordPress powered blog. Fast forward to today and there is another plugin with the same idea but …
