There are loads of blog communities where you can vote for your favourite blogs. I thought i would bring attention to two of the most popular sites - FuelMyBlog and Spicy Page.

Both of these sites work very in a similar way to Digg. You place an image on your blog to vote for your blog like the image to the right.

The best thing I ever did to improve my technorati rank on Facibus On Blogging was to enter a writing competition. I know that most of the links are just reciprocal “spreading the love” swaps, but I have more RSS subscribers as a result, and more traffic through to my other blogs.

Like guest blogging, entering writing competitions can get you great bang for your effort buck.

I’m a big fan of MyBlogLog. It allows me to see who has been reading the blog and allows me to interact with them in a lot of ways. I can contact them through MyBlogLog, i can see what communties they like and i can see what other bloggers like their blog. MyBlogLog isn’t the only site out there which allows you to interact and promote your blog in this way. The alternative service which a lot of bloggers are using is called BumpZee.

Stop basing our Advertising Rates on AlexaIm becoming more and more alarmed with the number of advertising networks who are using Alexa to base advertising rates for publishers. For example, Text Link Ads and ReviewMe.

As you know, i have never had any faith in Alexa. The top results are pretty accurate (Alexa claim 100,000) however outside that range figures are very inaccurate and can easily be manipulated by website owners to boost their own rankings.
