I was browsing around MyBlogLog and noticed that John TP had his url stated as http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?www.johntp.com.

My first thought that came to my mind was ‘Sneaky!’ but then i quickly remembered how much i hate Alexa. Alexa ranks have always been hugely unreliable from the very start of its existence and i still hold that opinion. I now think that this is a great idea. I soon noticed that a lot of great blogs use them including Darren at ProBlogger.

So i decided to give it a try tonight and i must admit, it’s way better than i expected.
I wish i had joined this ages…

I found this great little article about increasing blog traffic and i thought id share it. It was written by randfish on SEOmoz.

I don’t agree with everything he says though. He says that you shouldn’t open up comments until you have upwards of 100 RSS subscribers and/or 750 unique visitors per day. I suspect he believes that a blog post which isnt open to comments looks better to one that is but doesn’t have any. I prefer to keep them open - you never know, you might get the odd…
