More than any other type of website, blogs are more likely to be abandoned or sold. There are many reasons for this. Some bloggers struggle to find the time to update their blog whereas others get frustrated at the lack of money they make. However I believe the number one reason blogs are abandoned is lack of interest ie. the blogger loses interest in the topic or in the blog itself (sometimes referred to as Blogger Fatique).

There are several reasons why a blogger loses interest in their blog topic, the…

Over the last few months I have taken part in several interviews on other blogs and doing so has made me appreciate why interviews are so great for blogs (infact, Steven Snell from Traffikd posted an interview with myself today). Interviews are incredibly easy for both the blog owner to setup and the interviewee to take part in too. In this post I will look at why interviews are so popular with bloggers.

A blog with less or no traffic is like a personal diary which no one other than you reads. With a zero traffic blog, you cannot expect to earn anything if earning from your blog is your primary aim. I wanted my marketing blog to share a mixture of internet marketing techniques, thus Mixed MARKET Arts.

In theory, it sounded like a hugely brandable name. In reality, the branding backfired.

There were multiple big problems with the…

Two brief but unrelated stories for everyone :)

PureBlogging Up For Sale

The popular blogging advice blog PureBlogging is now up for sale at SitePoint. This probably won’t surprise anyone who knew of the site has the owner David Culpepper has contributed less and less in the last few months. However this does continue the tradition of these kind of blogs being sold within a year or so of starting.

In the past these blogs have sold for a good price so best of luck to David and here’s hoping the blog sells…
