Is content stealing on the increase?

Is content stealing on the increase?

Around The Blogosphere A week or so ago I posted about my experience with paid reviews. In the post I talked about how much traffic John Chow sent me when I got Blogging Tips reviewed there, I called this traffic jump ‘The John Chow Effect’. I think John liked the term as he posted about it a few days later detailing how websites who have been reviewed on John Chow have received similar traffic jumps. Whilst checking some back links on Technorati a few ...

Google are hypocrites

Google are hypocrites
16 Jul 2007

Around The Blogosphere I’m sure that most readers are aware that John Chow got penalized from Google last month. The number one theory and the one which is probably right is that Google are punishing him for his ‘Make Money Online’ linkback campaign. From the very start of this blog I have been very critical of John using this technique to gain traffic as the only one who seemed to benefit from it was John Chow. Some bloggers seem to be very pleased ...

The best John Chow Copycat site yet
04 Jul 2007

Around The Blogosphere I came across a fantastic John Chow paradoy blog today thanks to Net Business Blog. The blog is called John Cow, a blog which posts about ‘The Miscellaneous Ramblings of Dot Com Moooguls’. The blog promises to help you ‘Make Mooney’ online. It’s just a piss take of John’s site but it is pretty funny so if you some time you should check it out. Blog Name : John Cow

Technorati’s new look sucks big time!

Technorati’s new look sucks big time!
24 Jun 2007

Around The Blogosphere I’ve not logged into the home page of Technorati but when i did get a chance today i was a bit dissapointed. Technorati have changed the look of the site and in my opinion it really does suck balls. They’ve got the latest blogs scrolling along the top of the page (which is very late 90′s in my opinion) and the main area of the home page looks like a complete rip off of YouTube. Am i the only one who hates this new design?

Ask Shane where he is

Ask Shane where he is
13 Jun 2007

Around The Blogosphere Ask Shane is a blog which i used to check every day. Infact, i still have the blog on my feedreader. Unfortunately, Shayne has not updated the blog since 30th April so i can only assume that the blog is joining an ever growing list of blogs which are just being dumped by their owners. It’s a bit of a shame as his posts were pretty good and he posted quite regularly too. Do you know of any good blogs which have not been updated in a while?

NetBusinessBlog changes hands

NetBusinessBlog changes hands
05 Jun 2007

Around The Blogosphere I posted in the links roundup recently that NetBusinessBlog was being sold by the owner Matt Coddington. The new owner appears to have a lot of experience in the web so im keeping the site on my feedlist. In my opinion, the value of a blog is tied greatly to the main author so it will be interesting to see the direction the blog goes and whether the new owner can continue the momentum Matt had with the blog. The new owner joked that he bought ...

Guy who got a negative review going crazy on John Chow

Guy who got a negative review going crazy on John Chow
24 May 2007

Around The Blogosphere I know that a lot of BloggingTips readers are subscribers to John Chows Blog (including myself) however i thought that i would bring this to everyones attention to those who have missed it John did a review through reviewme recently for a site called Seven Day System. The site’s design is the same as those crappy clickbank marketing sites which promise to make you a millionaire in a short space of time with little or no effort – and ...
