Blogging has many great benefits, but one of the most exciting has to be how it’s connecting individuals together from around the world. No matter if you live in the United Stated, Russia, Egypt or India, when you have a website or blog on the internet, you are all basically from the same community. In addition to connecting people together, blogging is also helping to grow brands, businesses and industry experts in the process.
Today’s blogger interview is no exception to this rule. Be sure to read through Mi Muba’s blogging journey in this latest edition of Meet the Bloggers.
1.) Please tell us about yourself and how you got into blogging?
I am Mi Muba from Karachi Pakistan. I have been blogging for the last five years. I entered into this field accidentally when, seven years ago, I was fired from my journalism job.
So my friends advised me to start a blog on capital market awareness. I did it successfully and since then I never looked back. Now, I am making a full time living with blogging consultancy.
Before starting my first blog I did so many jobs and served in different positions in government and private sectors of Pakistan.
2.) What is the focus of your blog and why did you choose that niche?
Basically, I am a public awareness and public relations expert. So my main objective to start a blog was to raise public awareness on different issues that directly related with the well-being of people.
First, I picked the niche of “retail investment” to let people know its benefits. Then I started my blog Pollution Pollution to do green awakening. While blogging, I learned a lot on how to make money with your blog. Finally, I started the blog Be A Money Blogger where I advise newbies on how to monetize their blog to earn money.
3.) How are you currently monetizing your blog traffic
My green blog is monetized with PPC ads of Google Adsense as the majority of its visitors are unique so that’s the best way to earn money from there.
I also publish paid posts on it but the biggest source of my income is environmental awareness consultancy that I receive from all over the world.
From my money blog, I get orders of blogging consultancy from people who already are financially or professionally established and now want to blog just to share their vast experience with their community.
4.) What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started blogging?
Obviously, it’s list building. How much money you earn from email marketing largely depends upon the size of your list. It’s an era of doorstep servicing. So you have to go to the inbox of your potential buyer to convince him to buy on your recommendation.
5.) What are three blogs that you visit almost daily?
Pro Blogger.net, Shoemoney.com and Blogging Tips are the three blogs where I find posts on diverse topics so I don’t have to search anything more related to money blogging.
I usually read blogs through Feedly but do visit these three blogs as they have a lot on their home page that one can’t overlook.
6.) Can you give us three recommended tools/services that you use with your blogging?
Having tried so many tools I found these the best one:
- WP Subscribe Pro for list building
- MailChimp for email marketing
- Social Pilot for automated social media sharing
A few more are: Content Locker of any good company to expand your outreach and LongTailPro to do keyword research without missing your target audience.
7.) What advice would you have for someone who is just starting with their first blog?
Never compromise on quality and never think to get anything valuable for free.
First, learn blogging from a mentor by paying him fee. Then select a niche with extensive research and finally buy high quality hosting and blog template to build your blog on strong foundation.
Now, it is not sufficient to just invest your hard work. Competition has stiffened a lot and you need to make a good investment package comprising of your hard work, time, focus, and obviously money as well.
8.) What’s the best advice or tip you’ve discovered about blogging since getting started?
Without a strategy, you can blog as long as you want but you can never earn big money. It is must to know why you want to blog and how you blog for whom.
If there is any confusion in your mind, do clear it before starting your blog. Nothing happens by itself like it does in every business. You have to create your own way to blog successfully.
Another advice is that without connecting with influencers you can’t make a big headway to achieve your blogging goals.
9.) If you only had $100 to start a new blog, how would you use it?
I would buy a high-quality premium course or ebook to learn to blog from scratch with half of this amount. I would pay the remaining amount to subscribe a monthly hosting plan of high quality and a top level domain.
10.) How can readers of the blog get in touch with you?
Thanks again to Mi Muba for taking the time to share his advice and story with the Blogging Tips community. If you would like to learn about other bloggers and how they are finding success online, be sure to read through our blogger interview series.
