How to Get 50,000 Twitter Followers (Plus a Neat Income Generating Opportunity)

I recently hit 50,000 followers on Twitter.

Many years ago, I started with 1 follower.

How did I attract 50,000 followers?

1 follower at a time.

How to Get 50,000 Twitter Followers

The general obsession with getting MORE comes from fear, desperation, doubt, greed and a whole range of low energy emotions. How to get more followers. More traffic. More profits. More subscribers.

I can say – going from 1 to 50,000 followers – that letting go fear and embracing the idea of making friends, 1 to 1, marked the turning point in my Twitter career. I focused on helping people 1 to 1. I engaged with folks 1 to 1 for 20 to 50 minutes daily. Everything was 1 to 1. Moved my attention and energy from desperately trying to nab more followers to helping and chatting up folks, one at a time, from a fun, loving space.

Examples

Here’s how you build a big, engaged Twitter following:

– respond to people who retweeted your tweets with a “Thank You”, 1 Tweeter at a time
– answer questions via the @reply button when folks ask questions of you
– Retweet other Tweeters regularly
– chat with Tweeters via your lists, via hashtag searches and via your main stream
– follow interesting Tweeters
– keep your stream humming with helpful, insightful content targeted to your ideal blog reader

Automating plays a role in staying in the stream on the regular. I use a combination of tools but focus mainly on socialoomph to send out valuable updates around the clock as I circle the globe.

Example; a few minutes ago here in Thailand I scheduled updates for the day by spending 20 minutes loading my socialoomph account. Easy peasy. Now my followers from all over the globe will get a steady stream of helpful content no matter where they are located. Staying in the stream every day helps you gain more followers. Folks tend to follow people who pop up on the radar regularly. On the flip side of things, folks do not follow people on Twitter who seem to be asleep at the wheel.

50 K and Your Blog?

Attracting 50,000 Twitter followers – with a healthy dose of said followers engaging you consistently – helps you:

– drive blog traffic
– increase blog traffics
– boost your credibility
– build your friend network
– grow your email list
– connect with interested, engaged readers

Connect with Tweeters 1 to 1. Each powerful connection increases your follower count as more folks retweet you, spreading your Twitter word far and wide.

Oh yes; time to mention the affiliate opportunity I dropped via the blog title.

Watch the video guys:

I wrote and self-published 124 eBooks on Amazon. I also converted a healthy dose of these eBooks to audio book and paperback format.

That marks 150 plus products in the Blogging From Paradise Library on Amazon that you can sell and earn profit from as an Amazon affiliate.

The chief benefit of selling my products as an affiliate is that you earn passive cash on these creations without putting the time and energy into creating the products. Not a bad gig.

Align with a rapidly expanding brand. Sell more products by lining up with an increasingly familiar blogging entity. Blogging From Paradise has been featured on sites like Virgin, Forbes, Entrepreneur, The Huffington Post and Fox News and I also spoke at prestigious NYU.

Tips for Signing Up and Profiting

Create helpful blog posts. Befriend blogging leaders by helping them. You can link to the products via text links, widgets or an astore on Amazon. Just like this Blogging From Paradise astore I created:

You can sign up to become an Amazon affiliate here.

Once you sign up, search for products by querying “blogging from paradise.” Go wild.

Happy Prospering 🙂
