Increase Page Rank

Hello Bloggers! Are you struggling with your page rank? In this post, I will go over the different techniques I use to get my site page rank 2 in 5 months. The results will vary base on the time you have available. In the past 5 months, I have being working long hours to improve the ranking of my site. My daily tasks include writing articles, guest blogging, and guest commenting, updating my site everyday, replying back to my audience, and creating backlinks, and using social media.

The main reason why I decided to write this article is because we all need some inspiration at times.  Starting a blog can be quite overwhelming in the beginning, which can drive you to give up. As a blogger I know how it can feel overwhelming but I am here to tell you there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

In the beginning, the main focus of your blog is to write high quality articles.  To often many people focus on making money right away.  By focusing on making money right away will get you discourage and your blog will fail.  As a blogger your priority is to create high quality content on your niche.  Be the expertise of your niche because this will make you stand out from your competitors.   The power of becoming an expert on your niche will also help you build credibility with your audience. Read more, On Page Factors for SEO.

The first step in building a successful website is creating a niche your passionate about. The reason why I choose online marketing as my niche is because I am fascinated with creating a website from scratch and seen the success of the site. I also enjoy learning all about SEO, Word Press, Web Design, and Social Media. A niche in online marketing is the perfect fit for me. Find something your passionate and the writing will flow naturally. I have drifted off explaining how a blog works verses talking about how I improved my page rank. I want to make clear that this post is here to help you improve your page ranking. Your blog will fail if you do not spend the necessarily time to grow your blog.  Enough of the lecture here we go!

Increase Page Rank

The techniques I used to grow my blog and increase my page rank are not anything new you might not have already read before. The main key to my success is been persistent. I work on my site about 10 or more hours a day.  Here are my top strategies and tips to building an authority site.

#1.   Work Hard

Treat your blog as a business and take the time out to create high quality post.  In the first few months do not pitch a sale.  Your main focus should be creating a fabulous blog full of great content.  Your main goal is to over deliver great content and become the expert of your niche.

#2.  Update Regularly

As a new blog your main focus is to update content on a regular basis. By updating your site on a regular basis it will help search engine crawl to your blog and therefore it will help attract new visitors.  Here are some guidelines you can follow:

  • Create 3-6 Quality Content Per Week
  • The Articles Should Be Around 500 – 1000 Words
  • The Article Should Contain 3 Links Pointing Back To Your Pages
  • Create A Catchy Post Title

#3 Find A Mentor

A mentor is a great way to find someone that has been in your place and will guide you in the right path. A mentor will teach you different strategies, tactics, and save you time.  The mentor will also be someone that can encourage you when you want to throw in the towel.

#4.  Guest Posting

Guest posting is a powerful way to connect with new people, form new relationships, and expose your blog to large audiences. As you become a regular contributor on other sites, the more people will recognize you as an expert.

  • Guest posting on 1 blog a day

#5.  Guest Commenting Strategies

I personally spend a lot of time guest commenting on different sites.  The strategy behind guest commenting is getting to know other individuals in my niche and driving free traffic to my site. So how do I drive traffic?

  1. Leave A Well Thought Comment
  2. Always Use Your Real Name
  3. Make Sure To Sign Up For Gravatar Account
  4. No Stuffing Keywords In the Comment
  5. Never Gamble With A Site That Isn’t Yours

Following these guidelines will help you get your comment approved and not ban from the site.  In addition, you might get lucky by gaining some new visitors from the comment you left.  I personally leave a guest comment on 20 blogs per day.

#6.  Backlinks

I add all my backlinks myself.  In order, to increase your page rank you must have quality inbound links. The backlinks that are pointing back to you should consist of relevant websites only.  A great way to build natural links is creating 5 backlinks a day. Building too many backlinks in a short period of time will raise a red flag for Google and penalize your site by lowering your page rank.  There are two types of links:

  • Primary Links:  (Here are some few samples to get you started)
  1. Blog Post
  2. High Quality Article Directory
  3. Directory Submission

  • Secondary Links:
  1. Blog Commenting
  2. Social Media
  3. Forum Post

#7 Social Media:

Using social media is a powerful tool to distribute your content to thousands of people within minutes. Social media sites like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter have become a mainstream communication tools for marketers.  Social media can be a powerful tool when use the right way.  Social media will help with content strategy, marketing, auto sharing, and much more.

My strategy when it comes to social media is posting every article on various social media sites. The social site I use the most is Facebook Groups. I am able to join multiple groups relevant to my niche. I am actually a member of over 200 groups. I personally post every article I published on each group. It drives tons of free traffic to my website for FREE.  I also love using Twitter. I have an auto program called Tweet Adder that helps me auto share all my post with out the need to be on Twitter.

My personal strategy is to update all my social media sites when I published an article. I post an article everyday on Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Twitter.  I also spend about 2 hours a day in social media conversing with others, liking others post, adding new friends, requesting new friends, and socializing. Many people post on social media but forget to converse with the audience. In the beginning, you need to make your presence online by building interpersonal relationships with others.

Following this tips will help you increase your page rank for your blog. The secret of a successful website is been consistent and creating simple habits that will take your blog to the next level. Feel free to share your opinion and ask any questions you may have on this topic below!

Zaib Abbasi December 8, 2013

Hi nancy tell me something about backlinks? how much backlinks can we in a single day?
I heard that we should make less than fifty links is it true or not?

    Nancy Badillo December 8, 2013

It really depends on your site. For example, if your site is brand new then you do not want to start creating tons of backlinks because it will raise a red flag for Google. You might want to start with 5 a day then progress with backlinks. The more traffic your start generating and the older the site then you can start growing your backlinks to 20 per month, 5o per month, and so on. I hope this explanation helps. :-)

Thanks so much for your useful sharing. I support the idea that he most important thing we should focus on to set up and develop a successful website is driving the position of the site on google ranking. And in fact, all of the 6 simple ways you released above are really worth trying. Again, thanks a lot and I will keep watching your steps.

Sherman Smith December 10, 2013

Hey Nancy,
You made some great points. You definitely want to create high quality content. This is what’s going to attract your targeted market and keep them. One thing I disagree upon, from my experience, is blogging 3 to 6 times a week. I found that if I blog just once a week, creating high quality content, and spend most of my time promoting, engaging and commenting, I still just as much traffic as if I was blogging everyday, if not more. But again, this just my experience… Thanks for sharing these excellent tips!

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Sherman,

I do agree, if you create high quality content and spend time promoting it then you can drive tons of traffic as if you blog 3 to 6 times. The key for blogging once a week or a few time is creating great content and like you said promoting it! The promoting will drive in the traffic for sure. Great comment! Thanks for the pointers….

Reginald December 10, 2013

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for sharing. I don’t do much article directory submission but guess I gonna try it soon (did that in the past though).

One part I 120% agree is the work hard. Getting PR is not an easy talk. We are talking about hours or effort, influence building etc. Hard work will always pay off when the time is right. At least, that’s what I believe. Haha!

Thanks for sharing.

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Reginald,

Yes, working hard is vital for getting rank! I submit to the article directories because its an easier way for me to get a link with out the need to write a post. Thanks for the great comment.

kilat aryanto December 10, 2013

good tips, i will try it, thank sharing, i have new blog, i want get page rank

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Kilat,

Your very welcome! Good luck with your page rank.

Nilesh Goswami December 10, 2013

Hi Nancy,
I agree with Mr. Sherman Smith on writing once or twice per week. from my experience it generates the same amount of traffic in a week if I write 1-2 good posts. But there could be other factors in my case as I write technical blog so my main contribution in tech communities and groups on social media and forums. SO generally discussion goes up for a week and I wouldn’t want to distract them with new discussion topic.
I find guest posting quite difficult. what content to keep for your own blog and what to guest blog.

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Nilesh,

Yes, I can see how writing 1-2 great post per week and promoting them can drive tons of traffic. I personally love guest posting because for me its the best way to build a new blog. If you have a new blog that’s barely driving traffic you might have to sacrifice your majority of your post to guest posting to drive traffic. Once you have traffic then you can decided which post you might want to place in their site and so on. It can be hard at times but you have to find a creative way to come up with different topics that will be suited best for that site. Thank you for the wonderful feedback!

Shiv Saroya December 10, 2013

I think you are on to something here. Maybe instead of worry about my PR I should just forget about it completely. Then maybe it will actually increase

Email marketing service

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Shiv,

I never worry about my PR. I just focus on my website and the PR will eventually come. It actually helps when you focus on creating the best possible blog!

Sohail Ahmed December 10, 2013

Really you elaborated very easily and shown us path to increase page rank. thanks

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hi Sohail,

I am glad the post was very helpful! Thanks for the comment.

Kj Rocker December 10, 2013

Being a blogger i dont think so Page Rank is something i`ll be worried about anymore and has no benefit in my opinion but just a number , Many quality sites have got nothing but like PR 2,3 and majority of sites with tons of spam links got PR 5,6 i.ll give you a perfect example of itself , we all know how effective this blog is but when it comes to pr it got PR2 which in my opinion is ridiculous … in same way many tons of other QUALITY blogs and sites are in same line but when you look at their seo rankings and traffic stats , they are huge….

    Nancy Badillo December 11, 2013

    Hello KJ,

Great points! I do agree, that should have a higher Page Rank. I generally like to measure my sites. The fact that your site got a page rank means your doing something correct. Does the page rank seem fair for a site like this one, no. Great comment.

samarth December 11, 2013

hi nancy,
Very good post. Indeed, Guest Blogging is the best way to get referral traffic and strong back links. Updating blog on daily basis can make us to get more traffic because only for fresh and quality contents people visit our blog. Social networks can really play hard ball. So, giving importance to all factors will actually make our blog perfect and eye-catching.

    Nancy Badillo December 15, 2013

    Hi Samarth,

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Rohan Ayyar December 13, 2013

Guest posting on 1 blog a day!

Do you really do that, Nancy? Kudos!

I’ve seen a lot of your comments around, including some on my posts, and it’s a genuinely good way of developing relationships with bloggers! Brownie points are more valuable, at least to me, than PR :)

You’ve given some good advice here and it’s not surprising your blog moved up a couple of PR points with that kind of strategy! I’d love to hear your strategies for higher PR level-ups – the kind where you go from 4 to 6 as opposed to 0 to 2 – that’s where experienced bloggers run into a plateau.

    Nancy Badillo December 15, 2013

    Hi Rohan,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I do visit many sites include yours. I try to build relationship with various blogs.

Matko December 13, 2013

Hi Nancy. This post was really helpful. I learned a lot things I previously didn’t know.

Can you please tell me what about if we make backlinks on sites which doesn’t have relevant content to our site? Like now when I made this comment here my site which is linked at my name is ‘gaming’ niche, not the ‘seo’ niche like this blog is. So can this harm the reputation to my site? Should I stop make backlinks like this?

Thanks in advance,

    Nancy Badillo December 15, 2013

Thank you for stopping by! I am glad the post was very helpful. A lot of sites that let you leave a comment the backlinks are not do follow so it will not harm you.

Jeanne Melanson December 14, 2013
