Where Do You Get Your Blogging News From?

Posted by on 6th Sep 2013 | 15 comments

The majority of are currently running blogs of our own and this probably means that we are well aware of what’s going on in the blogosphere at any given time. However there are just so many blogs out there and it’s pretty tough to keep up with all of the latest blogs going live throughout the day. Even if you are visiting your favorite blogs on a daily basis and subscribing to their news feeds and mailing lists, you are still probably missing out on a lot of great content from other blogs.

In this post I wanted to ask the question…

Where Do You Get Your Blogging News From?

I’ve listed a few of my favorite places below. Be sure to leave your recommendations in the comments area.

Facebook & Twitter

Of course we have to start off with social networks! Not only can we connect with friends, bloggers and news sites around the world, but it’s also INSTANT! While blogging news can travel fast, nothing is faster than social media right now and connect with friends.

Social networks are also great for getting the latest blogging news feeds sent directly to your accounts, but it’s also a great way to connect with blogger groups as well.

One of my good friends Ileane of BasicBlogTips.com, has a great Facebook Fan Page that has several thousands of users that are always chatting it up about the latest blogging news and ways to improve their sites. Be sure to check it out!

RSS & News Feed Sites

One of the best ways to get the most updated news is through the use of rss and news feed sites. In short, these sites provide the latest posts that are going live from a collection of different blogs and makes it easy for you to scan through the list and see which ones you are interested in. This saves a ton of time versus having to subscribe to different blog mailing lists and visit each of them individually.

In the affiliate blogging space affposts.com, affbuzz.com and bloggerscope.com are some of the well known sites.

Top Internet Marketing Blogs Lists

I actually touched on this topic a few days ago on ZacJohnson.com and I wrote out a mega list of top marketing blogs that everyone should be following. The list is actually a list of sites that rank the top blogs out there based on different categories. In total there are over 1,000 different blogs between the top lists and I’m sure many of them you have yet to know of.

I’ve only started to scratch the surface of the many different ways to get your latest blogging news and discussions. Be sure to continue the conversation in the comments below!

I prefer Twitter and Google Plus communities for getting latest blogging news. Google plus is a better medium than Facebook for getting news from Blogosphere. I also subscribe to my favorite blogs and gets email whenever there is any update just like I got to know about this post from my mail. Great article.

Its nice article! I’ve really enjoyed it. To actually keep in touch with everyone is the main part if we are in touch with others then we can easily come to know about their updates and shares! Facebook and Twitter have made our life so easy and I do agree that it’s the best way to be in contact with bloggers!

Ileane is awesome and runs a great community, I still tend to follow what goes on her channels more than others, but also follow Just-Ask-Kim, Growmap, and most have their articles syndicated to BlogEngage which is where I go to catch whats the latest.

Triberr is also becoming a resource I leverage to find the latest in the various tribes pertaining to the categories that interest me most.

I use Triberr to get a lot of my blogging news as well as BizSugar and Scoop.it. I’ve also started to use Listly. Facebook groups are good too. I do use Twitter lists for general news and weather updates too.

Love Ileane and her blog. She’s always so friendly and inclusive to everyone. For affiliate news, I do use AffPosts a lot. I think it really has a nice interface. For regular marketing blogs, I’ve just started using Bloggerscope which I heard about from Kristi Hines. Very cool as well.

Aggregator websites like tribepro, triberr, and alltop are great source for content curation as well as keeping up with the latest news around blogging world. I would mention justretweet.com. Its a great place for fresh news, updates and retweets.

We only publish one orat most two blog posts a month so finding topics to write about isn’t that hard as recently write about something within our industry (environmental remediation). However, we also are active in content marketing and for that we’d like to use Google Alerts as it always provides a vast pool of resources for us to use as material. Of course, we have about seven or eight alerts set up.
