How Social Media Benefits Your Business

Posted by on 28th Jul 2013 | 8 comments

Using online marketing such as the social media sites to promote your business is one of the easiest and most cost efficient ways to advertise your goods and products.  Online marketing reaches people from all over the world and allows your business to be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  I have found the top seven benefits of promoting your business through using social media websites such as Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Facebook and have listed them for you so you can enhance your Internet business.

 Convenience

The convenience of using social media sites is definitely number one.  By promoting your business online your business is essentially open all of the time even when you are physically closed.  It allows your customers to browse your website and do their shopping at their convenience especially since there are different time zones.

Widens Your Target Market

Promoting your business through social websites provides you with a wider target market by allowing your business to be accessible anywhere in the world as it is being shared with millions of people.   You do not have to open any outlet stores in other parts of the country, which saves you money.  You would have to provide the availability of translation ability on your website for those who speak other languages, but this is minor.

Reduces Cost of Advertising

Using conventional media such as newspapers, magazines, and television can dip into your pocketbook.  As you promoting your business through social media sites you are spending less money and reaching more people. It is the best possible word-of-mouth advertising you can get for absolutely free. There are no large warehouses to build in order to keep stock on hand as you can order stock, as the demand requires.  This keeps your inventory overhead low.

More Personable for your Customers

Using social sites makes shopping for your particular product or service easier for your customers.  The more likes, circles and +’s you receive the more positive ratings your online business will receive.  People like to see positive signs and the more positive ratings and followers you are getting the trustworthier you and your business will appear on the Internet.

By using social media to market your business online you are reaching out to even more prospective customers. Again, this is far less expensive than paper advertising as using social media sites such as Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and Google+ are all free of charge and reach millions of people daily all over the world.  By putting social media icons on your website it allows your customers to spread the word about your company.  If they like your company and the way they are treated by you your customers will certainly share this information on the different social media sites and in turn your customer base will be growing.

You make some great points here! It’s also good to note that if someone’s friend recommends a brand or a product, they are actually twice as likely to buy from them. Crazy, huh? And every like or +1 your brand get is like a public recommendation. Because of this, participating in social media is almost guaranteed to increase sales.

Build your trust. Use social media. I dig the points Nancy. Smart social users give more than they take to expand their presence and gain the trust of their target audience. Be open, be transparent and most of all be present, giving freely and helping each day, to rock out your SM campaign. Thanks for sharing Nancy.

    Hi Mia,

Thanks for reading my post. Decisions to buy a product can change drastically based on the personal recommendations. Most of the time we may be doing it unconsciously. It’s a great way to sell your services or make a commission cut.
