If there is one thing the Superbowl can teach us, it’s that media and social marketing are still king!
How many people are going to watch the BIG game and not care about the football score, but will be more interested in the actual commercials instead? Probably more than you think.
The funny this is, everyone wants to see the commercials… and every business wants to be the commercials, and they are paying big money for the exposure. Who ever would have thought that people would voluntarily want to see advertisements and get enjoyment out of it.
I’m sure you will see a big difference in the commercials that will be posted during the Superbowl this year compared to commercials of ten years ago. The big difference will be the incorporation of social media and getting people to go from watching the TV to visiting web sites, tweeting and downloading mobile apps.
Some big names are already working on their social media exposure before the Superbowl and their commercial even happens.
AXE for example is already preparing for their 30 second television commercial that will launch on Sunday for their “Lifeguard” promotion which focuses on the Apollo product line they are working with. Again, all of this is going on before any of the real commercials even air.Plenty of other companies and brands are launching teasers of their Superbowl commercials before they officially launch as well.
