With professional basketball growing in size every year, their global reach continues to grow as well. I thought it would be a fun idea to do a creative post write up on what your favorite basketball team could teach everyone about blogging. As everyone knows, that the USA has pretty much the best basketball teams in the world and no matter who you ask, they can probably name at least one professional athlete in the league. The same can’t be said of the blogging world, unless you are already a blogger yourself.
However, that doesn’t mean that the principles of success for both sports and blogging can’t relate. Let’s have some fun and see how the two compare.
Everyone Is Watching
It’s no surprise that one of the most watched sports in the world is basketball, and being a professional athlete means the whole world is watching every move you make. This means that sports stars not only need to excel at all times, but also be mindful of what they say and do. The same can be said for the world of blogging. Once you start a blog of your own and put something out there, it’s out there for good for everyone to see. You may not be the next big athlete to sign a multi-million dollar contract, but as a blogger it may seem like you have the whole world watching you at time. Be mindful of your blog posts and always know what you are talking about before pushing that “Publish” button.
Building a Strong Team You Can Trust
Why are some sports teams better than others? Sure it comes down to talent, but it also comes down to each individual knowing their roles. Some players are point guards who control the ball and tempo, while others are around to defend and score the points. The same mindset can be said for business and blogging. Not everyone has what it takes to run a successful business, so building a powerful team around you that you can trust is key for success. You might not be a point guard or power forward, but you may be the starting writing or social media marketer to complete the perfect blogging or business team.
Striving to Be MVP Players
Lastly, we must have the will and drive to be the best at what we do. At the end of every season there is only one championship team and one MVP player. Even though there is only one winner, it doesn’t mean that the other teams don’t have a ton of followers and successes each year. The same can be seen in the world of blogging and business. Sure, there are some blogs out there that rank in the top 10,000 on Alexa and are the role models for other blogs and businesses to replicate and reach for, but there are also millions of other blogs that are just finding their success and their reach is growing every day. It’s that drive and passion to be the best that makes sports teams, blogs and businesses continue to excel to try and be the best.
The one important thing to remember is that no championship team or successful business is built over night. Take the same qualities and tactics as mentioned above and implement them into your business for continued success.
