2009

December- Version 2.9 is released with several back end tweaks as well as batch plugin updating and more.

2010

June- Version 3.0 is shipped with a new default theme, Twenty Ten, WordPress multisite and more.

September- Matt Mullenwegg announces that the trademark for WordPress is being handed over to the WordPress foundation. Also in September, Microsoft replaces Windows Live spaces with WordPress.com.

    wordpress is the most popular blogging platform right now and its growing very fast. Just 5-6 years ago I was a huge fan of bloggers blog but I am using wordpress from 2010 and ya I am very very happy with it.
