You’ve been blogging for years. You’ve been talking passionately about what you know a lot about. You’ve accumulated tons of amazing content on the subject matter, all spread across many, many blog posts.
So why couldn’t you take that content and reformat it into a book? You can. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
But before I show you how to do it. Here’s why to do it. The publishing world has changed. You don’t need to have a book agent, or a traditional publisher anymore. Think about it, the reason you started a blog is because you didn’t feel the need to have a gatekeeper controlling your content.
The reason people don’t write books is because those same gatekeepers have been standing in the way for far too long, making us think they should decide what gets published. We both know that’s b.s. We don’t need them anymore. Anyone can now easily, and almost instantly, create their own book and put it online for purchase within 24-hours.
My wife is currently doing this with her blog at MomGoesGreen.com. She just reached her 3-year anniversary of blogging 3-times a week. We’re currently taking about 100 of her very best blog posts and building them into a book. We’ll then take that book and make it for sale on Amazon Kindle, as well as print-on-demand. Which we will then promote on her blog!
This will not only establish her reputation and authority more, but will also help her earn another stream of revenue. There’s just something about books that causes people to think of you in a higher light, you know? And think about it, she (you) already have all the content written. You just have to format it into a book format, make a title and a cover and you’re done! It’s really that easy. The publishers want you to think it’s hard. They’re running scared.
Book To Blog Services
Yep, you can take your blog and turn it into a book using one of many “book to blog” services. Just do a search on Google and you’ll find a litany of services. Or click here to search.
The concept is pretty straightforward. These systems allow you to transfer your content over in an easy format so that you can then format the individual blog posts into a book format. They then offer you a bunch of ways to have the book published and marketed.
You can choose to keep your book published digitally only for sale in places like Amazon Kindle or Barnes & Noble, or just as an eBook PDF download from sites like Smashwords.com. Or, you can choose to take it a step further and have your book printed using sites like Createspace, Lulu.com or my favorite Infinity Publishing.
The only question for you now is why aren’t you doing it yet?
