Quickly Manage Your Reminders and Alerts with Spyvo

Posted by on 7th Aug 2010 Reviews, Social Media 4 comments

Quickly manage your reminders and alerts with Spyvo.Spyvo is a unique way of using the internet to find information and remember important occasions, whenever and however you choose.” It combines a free reminder service with mail forwarding, an eBay search tool and automated tweets. You can register a mobile number in order to receive SMS alerts as well.

Reminders

There are 5 types of reminders that you can add: birthday, dentist/doctor appointments, insurance, wedding anniversary or custom. Reminders are not complicated and quick to setup. For example, when setting up a birthday alert you can enter the name of the person, the date of their birthday (by selecting it on a calendar) and a custom message (optional). Next you can specify what type of alert you’d like to receive like email, SMS, or IM (instant messenger).

Web Alerts

Here is where you can add eBay search queries and receive alerts every time an item is listed that matches your query. You can also setup email forwarded and have all or certain emails forwarded to you by SMS or IM (instant messenger). Lastly you can use Twitter OAuth to schedule automated tweets.

Information Alerts

You can also use Spyvo to receive weather alerts. Just enter your city or zip code and add a custom message (optional). You can choose how often you’d like to receive alerts and when. What better way to keep up with the weather then having it sent to you by SMS first thing in the morning.

Other Tools

If you register your mobile number with Spyvo not only can you receive SMS alerts, but you can also send an SMS message to anyone in the world. To do this though, you’ll need to buy credits. Spyvo credits cost £0.05 per credit and you can pay using Google Checkout or PayPal.

A neat feature that Spyvo offers is the ability to hibernate your account. If you would like to suspend all alerts at once, you can simply go to settings and select the “hibernate my account” option. This is also where you can manage your mobile number(s), IM accounts and Twitter account.

Spyvo may seem like a small tool from the outside but once you dig in deeper you’ll see that it offers quite a lot of useful features. I hope you find Spyvo as useful as I have. Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments.
