So, you need a web host. Maybe you want to start up a new blog and you want to make sure that the servers will be able to handle all of that monumental traffic you’re expecting. Maybe you’re getting into the world of affiliate marketing and want to launch a large number of micro-sites that are targeting some really specific niches. Whatever the case, you need web hosting.
One option that you might want to think about is Vixile. What is it about this hosting provider that sets it apart from countless other possibilities out there on the Internet? Let’s dive in and find out.
Brief Overview of Vixile Hosting
Looking at the main homepage for Vixile, you can tell that they’ve taken a very minimalist approach with very little in terms of flash and showmanship. It is what it is.
This is either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your perspective. Personally, I would have liked to see at least some sort of unique logo for Vixile. As it stands, it looks like the developers took a standard template somewhere and filled in the gaps.
Vixile highlights three of its main products on the homepage: shared hosting, virtual servers, and dedicated servers. Since we’re looking at the higher end of the scale, we’ll skip the shared hosting (which starts at $3.95 a month) for the purposes of this review.
Virtual Private Servers (VPS)
Many people are interested in having the power and versatility of a dedicated server, but they’re not yet prepared for the higher cost associated with that type of hosting. Virtual private servers are an appropriate alternative.
Looking at the VPS hosting plans from Vixile, you get five different possibilities. The smallest is $9.95 a month and offers 20GB of total disk space, 200GB of monthly bandwidth, 256MB of dedicated RAM, 2GB of burstable RAM, and one dedicated IP. This isn’t much more than many shared hosting plans, so it may be worth considering.
For heavier traffic, you can step up as high as the VPS1024 plan. At $29.95 a month, it includes 80GB of storage, 800GB of data transfer, and 1024MB of dedicated RAM, as well as 2GB of burstable RAM and one dedicated IP. For now, Vixile does not offer true dedicated server hosting, so this is the next best thing.
Stepping Up with Reseller Hosting
What if you want to get into the hosting business yourself? You don’t have to invest in buying all sorts of servers, customer service centers, and other infrastructure. The reseller hosting plans from Vixile can handle that for you.
They range in price from $12.95 a month for 5GB of storage, 50GB of bandwidth, and 20 cPanel accounts all the way up to $124.95 a month for 100GB of storage, 1000GB of bandwidth, and unlimited cPanel accounts. These plans are good for resellers, but they’re also appropriate for web designers and other professionals who want to offer a comprehensive hosting package to their customers too.
Discounts and Coupons for Up to 99% Off
Without having the ability to test out the various Vixile hosting plans on a long-term basis, it is difficult for me to attest to their uptime, reliability, and customer service. That said, they are quick to offer at least three coupon codes.
- “WOW” gets you 50% off for life on reseller hosting plans
- “AUGUST” gets you 99% off for the first month of any hosting service
- “SUMMER” gets you 20% off for your first order
Which coupon results in the greatest value for you is dependent on what hosting plans you choose, so break out the calculator and start crunching some numbers.
