Google keeps making it harder and harder to get away with second class content on your website when you’re looking
to use text for internet marketing purposes. It wasn’t long ago getting a great page ranking meant only that you needed to stuff your content with the right keywords, but the people who marketed this way suffered in the end.
The reason is simple. There was a time when you could manipulate the search bots into giving your site a great page ranking but keyword stuffing was a short sighted technique for several reasons.
- It couldn’t last. Anyone with any foresight would have seen the bigger search engines like Goggle would see through that trick eventually and change their algorithms to make sure they didn’t get caught again.
- It defeated the purpose from an Internet marketing standpoint. While it’s true that you need to make good use of keywords and links to get the traffic you need directed to your website, it’s also true you need good content waiting for prospective customers when they arrive. Bad keyword stuffed content might get visitors , but they’ll soon click away when they read the awkward text they find there. Bad content had no hope of closing any sales.
So there are a few things you need to do to make sure you’re using your internet marketing dollar properly when it comes to content marketing.
- Do your homework. You need to get specific when you’re using keywords to drive the page ranking that you’re after. Remember there are 15.9 billion searches every month and that means you need to understand the words and phrases people who are looking for what you’ve got are using when they plug into Google. Although there are free keyword search tools, an internet marketing professional makes it their business to find you the most efficient keywords.
- Buy Lots Of Content. Remember that the search engines love fresh content and the most recent posts are always at the top of search results. That means you need to stay current and have the volume to do battle with the competition. There’s no use in dumping great amounts on the market all at once however. Spreading out the posts in a campaign will give you the best results where currency is concerned.
Finally, it’s important to remember that you can’t do it all yourself. The best bet to get the kinds of results you need will employ a team of writers and maybe even someone to oversee all their efforts and how the rankings are coming along. It’s important to remember here patience is a virtue as well. You won’t see any difference in the number of hits on your site right away and it generally takes several months before you see a change in your rankings with the search engines.

Thanks for sharing this Rob. I agree that we can't do this by ourselves. We need to leverage, and leveraging is really the key to success. We can make decent results by doing it ourselves, but if we want amazing results, then we need to leverage.
Keep it up!

Gary
I've never really done the whole 'keyword stuffing' thing which is why I think my blog suffered at the beginning but is now gaining the fruits of my labour.
Interesting, obvious (
) but all relevant points. We try to keep our seo up to date, and our client's too ! We know what you're saying, trying to keep up – and are out sourcing some key points. More importantly checking our hits & reports – it's important to track the activity
so good.Thanks
This was really a knowledgeable post…Expecting more posts like this !
Some important points have been covered here. Keywords need to be chosen and implemented carefully into any content. Bad content will immediately drive the customer away, making any effort you've been to in order to rank higher in search engines a waste of time. Keywords can still be placed into content in a more subtle and effective way, which will leave the readers happy.
