Do You Like? Tell Facebook.

With Facebook becoming more integrated in the sites that we use every day. And the debate about whether that is good or bad can be saved for another post. This post is to focus on how you can promote your blog in a new way by adding a Facebook “Like” button to your blog posts.

The other Day Chris Brogan tweeted that he was installing the SNV Facebook Like plug-in by Mitch Canter of StudioNashVegas.

Chris Brogan Tweets about the SNV Facebook Like Plug-in

I follow Chris on Twitter so I decided to give it a look. I thought the plug in was a decent one so I installed it on my blog. Nothing happened, the like button did not show up. I wondered what was wrong so I went into the settings and saw nothing for turning it on or off. So I saved the settings once again and the plug in showed right up.

I added the Facebook Like Button to BenSpark.com

Now, when someone comes to BenSpark.com and they want to share my post with their friends on Facebook they can simply click the Like button. This will update their recent activity on Facebook with a quick link to the blog post that they like.

You have control over how the size and shape of the area where the like button and Facebook images of everyone who likes your content shows on your blog. You can also choose to manually or automatically add the Facebook button to your blog. You can also change the text from Like to Recommend and determine if you would like the color scheme to be dark or light. A simple yet versatile plug in.
