Nice explanation for people new to WP.
Truth is though, there's very little you can't do with WP if you're happy to get your hands dirty in the code.

Good tips, but this really only cracks the surface of WP as a CMS .. There are a whole bunch of ways you can seperate posts and pages and dynamically generate content based on what the user is looking for… Good tips for beginners looking to migrate though..

Sid & Farzeen: I decided to skip on talking about plugins in this case as I wanted to focus on what WordPress itself could do. WP, even without plugins, can do a great deal.

The other reason is that you need different plugins for different kinds of sites. FOr example, Sid mentioned FlashBox and NextGen, both are gallery plugins great for photo sites but not very useful for businesses.

I may, in the future, do a more specific series of posts about using WP for photography, business, storefronts, etc. and drill down into those specific plugins.

Would anyone be interested in that?

Basic but nice info .. you can add some plugins like FlashBox , NextGen .. The list is never ending and you can choose them acc to ur needs. I think there is a plugin for everything u want and if there is not one, i m sure someone is making it
