I have to agree that using great keywords or keyword phrases won't be near as effective if your content is lacking. As with almost anything, balance is the key. New traffic is great, but quality content will be what brings them back as regulars.

If you planning to work on new website your keyword should be long and area should be niche.If you planning for a website that already take a good position in the SERP your keyword will be short and mostly generic.

I completely agree with your point about content before SEO. It's really frustrating as a surfer looking for relevant content to be directed to a site that is lean in good information, particularly after that site has obviously put serious effort into organic search! That must have cleared confusion in the minds of bloggers who were wondering about exact use of key words. The point is, just using keywords without the content wont fetch you any traffic and even if does it wont sustain. so using these keywords at appropriate places along with nicely woven content is of uppermost importance.

Keyword research is a very important part of SEO. But your right – it can be difficult to fit keywords into your articles sometimes. However, if you have experience in writing you can quickly learn how to properly SEO an article. Don't forget to use your primary keyword in the first paragraph and once every hundred words or so!
