Send Social Alerts to Friends with Aumio

Aumio, currently in an early beta stage (v1.1.0), is all about scheduling and sending social alerts to your friends by email, phone and SMS. Because of this, the site is very basic and there are not too many features or settings. Everything that can be done on the site is found at the Dashboard. This is not your typical service; most of us schedule alerts/posts for different social networks but, I don’t know too many who schedule alerts to friends. How about you?

Alerts

Here you can create new alerts to be sent to whomever you choose. Alerts can be sent by email, phone or SMS; there’s not any details to differentiate between phone and SMS, so I’m not sure what the difference is. If you have an idea, please feel free to share in the comments. Your alerts can be up to 140 characters and anything you want can be inserted here. You can then schedule a date and time for sending the alert. Finally, you can choose who to send the alert to. Here you can either enter one or more email addresses or select a friend from your list (explained below).

Friends

This is where you can add new friends and contacts to your list. This will, of course, make it easier to choose who to send alerts to since their information will already be there for you. It’s pretty much like any basic address book; you can enter their first and last name, email address, country, phone number and mobile number. Friends can be deleted in bulk from the dashboard area.

My Account

This area should be pretty much self-explanatory. You can edit your account information here and add a picture. There is a spot for “balance” and “outstanding balance” but no explanation can be found as to what these refer to. One would assume that Aumio may later implement some type of credit system to be used for sending alerts.

The site is so very new that the help section is very incomplete. On the home page, it states that the site is mainly in the testing stage. So, if you’re an early adopter and don’t mind taking a few minutes out of your day to test it out, feel free to do so; I’m sure they’d appreciate the feedback.
