Thanks for some really great tips! I think another great tip is to add relevant personal experiences and stories to one's blog.

Your first tip should be familiar to PR pros who are experienced press release writers. I think there are similarities between quality blog writing and news writing.

You didn't say anything about length? I find that I rarely read blog posts longer than what you've written here. I try to keep posts on my blog, blog.cuclispr.com, to what can read without much scrolling, excluding photos and graphics. There's lots to read out there. An individual only has so much time.

Not bad at all. You pulled me from Twitter with the "unlikely."

Most of these list posts are what I've been calling "recycled pap." Wasn't any good first time around, why people feel compelled to recycle is beyond me.

"power of voice and attitude" gives me some trouble. The trouble being that there's very little accountability in this arena... which means the loudest voice often wins. Even when it's wrong. Along with that, a fair number of the slightly less than prudent get swept up into the emotion. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm reading someone making specific and bold claims, with only a lot of voice and attitude, I'm not liable to take their advice very seriously.

The rest of it is very good.

Why people who haven't written for years believe they can produce well-structured articles by the truck load is completely beyond me. But that's a story for another day.
