Tips For Getting The Best Web Exposure

Whether you’ve got a blog or a website to promote your goods or service or just point of view, it’s important or remember you just can’t leave that blog sitting stagnant, that just because you publish something on the Internet doesn’t mean that other people will see it unless you take some steps to increase its exposure. Now while statistics show that most blogs are abandoned shortly after they are created, there is a core group of people that want to use what they’ve placed on the Internet and gain some exposure for it.

Here’s a few interesting techniques that I’ve come across.

1. Article Marketing

Article marketing seems to fall in and out of favor depending on who you talk to.  I work with Internet advertising experts who swear by it and often abandon blogs to promote a website opting for the longer articles and distribution instead, and I’ve worked with other people who won’t touch it because they swear it does nothing for them.  The truth is it’s success or failure is probably all in the keywords and links and the abilities of the content writers and seo experts who are implementing them.

At any rate the idea for people writing these articles is to stay away from hard-sell techniques and gear the articles towards useful information that will position the company as undisputed experts in their field.  Some articles are actually rejected at syndication places because they are too obvious with their keywords and links.  There is usually a resource section at the bottom allocated toward at least two keywords that can point back to the original site.

2. Blog Marketing.

Blog marketing seems to be one of the cornerstones of Internet advertising that hasn’t gone anywhere since I’ve been doing it and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. The blogs I’ve written for Internet advertising span a few different types of focus from the street brochure type ad copy with a couple links and keywords to more in-depth and personalized content. Regardless of the one that the client chooses, these are the tried and tested way so far of getting the kind of exposure you need and the traffic that you want to direct to your site.

3. Social Media Marketing.

It’s no surprise that as soon as Internet marketers saw that there was a quick easy and free way to get the word out they jumped all over social media marketing.  Using social marketing media places like Facebook can do wonders to increase your visibility on the web, but I found that these need to be updated just as regularly as the blogs and articles that you do to keep a fresh perspective with the search engine crawlers.

Of course there are other ways to advertise on the Internet but these are several of the ones that incorporate people who have writing talents. Regardless of the one you use persistence is the key. The search engines are always looking for fresh content and you should be on top of the relevant keywords and any changes there.

    So, envisioning this like a "V" shape, would you suggest that the 3 be connected? For example, all your article marketing should lead people to your blog AND all your social media marketing should as well?

    That way, there's a central focus to online promotional efforts.

    Great post.. I think EVERYONE from EVERYWHERE should be sent to your blog. Then from your blog they can be sent to where you want or they need to go.

    Article marketing is an interesting method to do but somehow I prefer blog marketing (sincerely this is the first time I go into the term 'blog marketing'). Find good keywords to attract visitors and it's attracting visitors to your blog.

    The best way is to write guest posts while updating your blog and when the traffic is impressive, focus on improving your blog to maintain the traffic and you'll get it right.

    I am more of a fan of Article Marketing as, if done correctly, will position you as the expert and when readers visit your site you will have instant credibility!
