I recently posted about your writing passion, stepping out of your niche and having a theme for the day. Depending on how many topics you cover each week and how many websites you write for, you may want to consider adding a theme to each day’s writing. Some topics can even be stacked if they’re closely related or if you don’t have enough days to cover every niche you write about.
A typical week for me covers topics about health, fitness, personal development, writing, fiction, weddings, travel and network marketing.
Monday is my day for planning the work week, but I also cover miscellaneous topics on Monday and do some writing.
Tuesday is devoted to articles about health, wellness, fitness and personal development because they are all closely related.
On Wednesdays I cover topics about writing, whether it’s tips, fiction, character development–whatever falls under the category of writing.
Thursdays are for travel. I get to go all over the world on Thursday. One of the great things about writing travel topics is the research, knowledge gained and the culture experiences that also help with my fiction writing or brainstorming with other writers.
On Fridays I cover several topics. That’s normally the day I write about wedding topics and network marketing. It’s also the day set aside to get some of my personal writing or projects done too.
Now, this system is new to me and I can’t vouch for how well it works yet, but I thought I’d start the New Year off with a new plan for being productive. It’s often hard to make your brain change gears during the day; writing about health, travel and weddings in one day can be overwhelming. By setting a theme for the day, you can stay on one topic and get several articles written that relate to the same niche.
Often when I write, I come up with ideas for other articles. Instead of taking notes while I’m writing and putting it off, I can jump to the next idea as soon as I’m finished writing the article. There are times this doesn’t work because I already have my topics lined out for the day, but if time allows me to cover my new idea I do much better staying in “theme” for the day.
Do you have any time saving or theme tips you’d like share? What do you do that helps you be productive during your day?

Hello Patti,
Thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a go. I’m most productive from 9.00am 11.00am and from 3.00pm and 5.00pm and I try to do my most demanding tasks between these hours.
Nice post. There is no doubt that people can make lots of money only by writting.
This is right on time. I am in the process of determining how to work in and on my business, and I was getting a little frustrated. This helped tremendously.
Good tips. It makes sense to have a theme for each day. It keeps you focused and organized. Plus it gives you a blueprint for the week and makes writing easier.
