TwitterAlerts is simple; it sends you free Twitter alerts via SMS, email and Yahoo instant messenger. Many people now have multiple Twitter accounts and keeping up with them can get tough, especially if you’re a very busy person. Others like to monitor various keywords for brand monitor or other personal reasons and this is an easy service to do so. TwitterAlerts does not require registration, simply login with Twitter via OAuth. Plus you can setup an unlimited number of keywords for monitoring.
Unfortunately, receiving SMS alerts is not free though you’ll get 10 free SMS alerts with your first login. Prices are as follows: 100 SMS messages – 6 EUR ($8.60 USD); 200 messages SMS – 12 EUR ($17.19 USD), 500 SMS messages – 30 EUR ($49.98 USD). You can currently pay by PayPal if interested.
You will need to add your mobile number, email and/or Yahoo ID. You can then enter the keyword that you want to monitor – remember these are unlimited. Then you can check off whether you’d like to get notifications of new @mentions and/or new direct messages. Alerts are sent every 20 minutes so, unfortunately at this current time it doesn’t seem as if you can receive a daily digest.

If you really love this service, you can share the love by posting a tweet about them straight from the website. Since it’s connected to your Twitter account via OAuth, it will automatically post to your account.
Is this the best solution for getting Twitter alerts? Probably not, but it does get the job done.
