Charnita Fance5 More Way to Share Videos on Twitter

Back in June I covered 5 easy ways to share videos on Twitter. As you know, new Twitter tools are popping up on a daily basis so, there will always be new ways of doing the same things – especially on Twitter. Since Twitter has yet to implement video embedding, users still have to use outside tools to do just that. So, here we are with 5 more ways to share videos on Twitter.

Tvider

Here you can share not just videos but also pictures and audio on Twitter. You can record video straight from your webcam or by uploading it from your computer. Along with your video you can post a tweet with a maximum of 110 characters. It’s a really simple, easy to use interface so posting is a snap. Unfortunately, Tvider does not utilize Twitter OAuth, so you will need to enter both your Twitter username and password in order to login. On the site you can also view public tweets from others who have posted media to Twitter via Tvider. They also have an iPhone app that will let you share videos straight from your iPhone.

Camtweet

This site is brought to you by Justin.tv, a website for live video broadcasting very similar to uStream. It lets you share live video on Twitter using a standard webcam or screen capture software. There’s no need to create an account, you can login using you Twitter username and password. Unfortunately, Camtweet is another site that doesn’t utilize Twitter OAuth. Once you login and choose your settings, you can send out a tweet with a link for everyone to come view you live. Unfortunately, unlike Justin.tv and Ustream, there’s no way to interact with your users via chat or by viewing a live Twitter stream. Maybe this is something they will implement in the future.

Vidly

This is a great site for sharing videos on Twitter and very easy to use. You simply enter a tweet to go with your video, then add your video. Videos can be added by a file from your computer, straight from your webcam of via a URL from a video site like YouTube, TwitVid, Blip, etc. Again we have a site that doesn’t support Twitter OAuth. You’ll need to enter your Twitter username and password in order to upload your video. An additional feature from Vidly is that they let you post your video to Facebook and YouTube also. Once you click on “login and upload” it automatically gets posted, so make sure you’re ready for it to be seen by the Twitter world. They also offer an iPhone application for those who are interested.

TwitVid

Here is a site that finally uses Twitter OAuth, although you can login using your Twitter username and password if you prefer. You can upload a video to share from your computer, phone or webcam. You can then attach a tweet with up to 112 characters to go with your video. TwitVid also has an autoshare feature, like Vidly; you can share your videos on Facebook, MySpace and YouTube as well. TwitVid also lets you send in videos via email or MMS which is nice. As well as having an iPhone application, which Kristen Nicole covers in great detail here, they also have a Blackberry application.

yFrog

This site is best known for sharing images on Twitter but you can also share videos – and yes you can login via Twitter OAuth. The setup of the site is very simplistic which of course makes it easy to use. You can share a video either but uploading it from your computer, via a video URL, or straight from your webcam. You’re able to add a tweet with up to 100 characters to your video. There are many third-party applications that have integrated yFrog into their interface such as: Destroy Twitter, Seesmic Desktop, TweetDeck, Tweetie and Twitterrific to name a few. They also have their very own iPhone application for easy sharing while on the go, in case you don’t want to use one of the above-mentioned third-party applications.

Share your images and video on Twitter.

So now that we have 10 different ways to share videos on Twitter, which way is your favorite?

Twitvid is a good site. I’ve been sent over there from tweets a few times and it seems to be a good site for uploading video and engaging the people you send there.

I haven’t been exposed to the others on this list, but YFrog seems to do a good job with photos. I’ll check some of these out.
