I think the problem that a lot of people have, myself included, when starting to write about something that they're truly interested in is worrying about the people out there that appear to know more about your niche or the ones that got there first. After reading various blogs though (yours included) you come realised that it doesn't matter who else is out there. I think the problem that a lot of people have, myself included, when starting to write about something that they’re truly interested in is worrying about the people out there that appear to know more about your niche or the ones that got there first.

After reading various blogs though (yours included) you come realised that it doesn’t matter who else is out there. It’s better to enjoy writing about a more mainstream subject than to toil over something you’re not passionate about. Just learn from what everybody else is doing and do it better… ;)

Being a stand-up, I can tell you this is exactly how it works regardless of your theme or "gimmick". So many times I've gone through my notebook and found 5 year-old half-written bits that end up working perfectly with something new I've come up with. Blogging can be the same exact way. Have your niche, but if you have quality ideas for articles that don't necessarily fit in with it - jot them down anyway!
