Five Great Sites for Writers

Posted by on 16th Oct 2009 Writing 8 comments

greatsitesI wanted to share some great blogs and websites that I’ve found for writers over the years. This is not an extensive list, but it’s one I’ve come to rely on for great advice and great articles.

Writingfordollars.com

I found this website several years ago and with each format of my computer or email change, it’s one I always go back too and re-subscribe. It’s very simplistic in it’s design—there is nothing fancy here, but it does contain a great deal of information about writing, publishing markets and some great articles.

Freelance Writing Organization, Int’l

This is another good site for lots of different information with tons of free resources. They began in 1999 with the mission of becoming the world’s largest database of free online resources for writers.

Editor Unleashed

This is a nice clean blog that has a good layout. It’s full of interesting articles and guest posts. The blog’s owner, Maria Schneider, is the former Editor-in-Chief of Writer’s Digest magazine.

WriteSuccess.com

Mary Anne Hahn has run Write Success for quite awhile. It began as a simple newsletter, but she has recently entered the world of blogging and turned it into an actual website instead of a newsletter. So, while it’s still in it’s infancy with it’s new direction, Mary Anne always has great stuff to say. I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from her insight.

StoryFix.com

This is my newest find, but I really can’t take all the credit for finding it. I discovered it from this site, when Larry Brooks became one of the staff writers here at Blogging Tips.

If you don’t click through to his site from his articles here, you really should. He has a lot of great information to share and I love his style of writing.

These are my Top 5 Writing Sites that I refer to almost daily for information, reference or to just enjoy a good read. I hope you find them as useful as I have.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad you found them useful.

@Blogger User: Three of those are blogs–only two of them are general websites. Editor Unleashed, WriteSuccess and StoryFix are blogs. Hope this helps!

    Thanks again everyone,

    Patti
